Ali ShamsidDeen was a 2014 candidate for the Seventh Judicial District (Place 1).[1] He previously ran for the court in 2010.[2]

ShamsidDeen ran for election to the Seventh Judicial District.
General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 35 percent of the vote. He competed against Jeff Weill. [1] 

2010

ShamsidDeen was defeated in the general election for the Mississippi Circuit Court, winning only 25 percent of the vote.[3][2]

Education

ShamsidDeen earned his B.A. from the University of Washington and his J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law. He also holds an MPPA from Jackson State University.[4]

Career

ShamsidDeen has served as a municipal court judge for Jackson, Mississippi. He previously served in the U.S. Army. ShamsidDeen has also worked as a law clerk, an associate with the firm Lumumba and Freelon, in private practice with the firm Ali M. ShamsidDeen, as a public defender for Bolton, Mississippi, and as an editor for the Jackson Advocate Newspaper.[4]
