Alexander L. Paskay was a judge for the United States bankruptcy court, Middle District of Florida. He was appointed to the court on July 1, 1963, and later retired in 1999. He served the court on recall status and stepped down permanently in December 2011. Paskay passed away on April 27, 2012.[1]

Education

Paskay earned a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Miami.[1]

Career

Prior to becoming a judge, Paskay worked as a senior law clerk for Judge Joseph P. Lieb. Shortly thereafter, Paskay was appointed to the bench. During his tenure as a judge, Paskay taught bankruptcy as an adjunct law professor at Stetson University for nearly 40 years.[2][1]

Awards and associations

In 1982, Paskay served as the founding director of the American Bankruptcy Institute. He has been credited as "a legend in the bankruptcy world."[1]
