After so many emails from Tumblr about new accounts following me, I decided to delete my account. Didn't even download an archive, mainly because it was ages since I had used it. I liked browsing Tumblr, but don't like being followed by bots.

I also deactivated my twitter account. I miss the interesting topics, but not the firehose of rage.

I'm no longer on facebook, or Live Journal. Hopefully, I'll be able to stop spending so much time refreshing and more time doing. The reaction machine had a hold of me for a long time.

I’m usually good with keeping backups, to the point that I make backups of backups. Wouldn’t you know, the one time I didn’t have a backup is when the drive dies, and not in a way that I can still salvage some data.

A lot of what was on the drive was old stuff, created on a computer that is long gone. A chunk of the files were of my writing, photography, as well as saved images I would use for drawing. Maybe some of my digital only drawings are gone, too. I also lost saved fics - not just my own, but others I saved to reread.

Maybe it is time to reduce my own footprint in this world.

Remember, the meaning of life is 42.

In the Meantime...

Ha! Haven’t posted anything in a while! Happy New Year!

Just upgraded a sluggish 2009 Macbook. No Pro around here, this was a refurbished little white laptop with a 160 5400-rpm hard drive. It’s hard finding RAM upgrades, so it’s stuck at 4gb. I did get a little tool thingy from iFixit. I upgraded the drive to a SSD Sata drive. It’s marginally higher, but much faster opening programs or even websites.

This is where I am the most relaxed, tinkering in computer hardware.
