Omashu is a large Earth Kingdom city carved out of a mountain. It was founded by Shu and and has been ruled by Bumi for the past hundred years.[1] Omashu is described as one of the last Earth Kingdom strongholds, with rumors of spies and danger within.

History[]

Founding[]

Shu met Oma on top of a mountain that divided their two villages. However, Oma's village was an enemy to Shu's village, and the two lovers could not be together. Their commitment to their love led the couple to learn earthbending from the badgermoles, and built elaborate tunnels so that they could meet secretly.

Their meetings continued until Oma was killed into an attack. Shu was devastated by the loss of Oma, and wielded her earthbending power to bring the villages to their knees. Instead of choosing to destroy the villages, Shu declared the war over. Both villages helped Shu build a new city where they could peacefully coexist. The great city was named Omashu as a monument to Oma and Shu's love.[1]
