F. C. Yee, who outside of his writing uses the name Christian,[1] is a Young Adult author known for writing The Epic Crush of Genie Lo and The Iron Will of Genie Lo. Yee is the author of the first four Chronicles of the Avatar novels: The Rise of Kyoshi, its sequel titled The Shadow of Kyoshi, The Dawn of Yangchen, and The Legacy of Yangchen.

Biographical information[]
Yee grew up in New Jersey and went to school in New England, but later moved to Colorado.[3] Outside of writing, he practices Capoeira and has a day job "mostly involving spreadsheets".[4] Yee is of Chinese and Korean descent.[5] He has stated that "F. C. Yee" is his real name and the "F" does not stand for anything, being just an "F" with nothing after it on his birth certificate. He likes to tell people it stands for "football club".[6]

- Yee stated that if he could write for any series that he has not worked on yet, it would be Star Wars.[11]
- After the release of The Legacy of Yangchen, Yee stated that he was unsure whether he would continue writing Avatar novels, but that if he returned to do so, he would probably focus on Avatar Szeto next.[12] The next novel after The Legacy of Yangchen, The Reckoning of Roku, was the first to not be written by Yee.[13]
- Yee is friends with Nancy Wu, narrator of the audiobook versions of the Avatar novels.[14]
- At San Diego Comic-Con 2024, Yee stated that he would have liked to write a "Dirty Dozen"-style story set during the Hundred Year War; the protagonists would have also included a Dai Li agent who was still loyal to Avatar Kyoshi's vision of the secret agency.[15]
