Southern restaurant Fixe opened up this way-more-casual counterpart cafe in the Arboretum in early October. Its breakfast menu — available on the weekends — makes for a great brunch option, full of eggy biscuit sandwiches, as well as sweet dishes like biscuit-based cinnamon rolls and brown butter pancakes. Its weekend hours start at 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Takeout orders can be placed online or in person; there are indoor and outdoor dine-in services.

The Windsor Park neighborhood bar added a dedicated brunch menu to its lineup in late October. This means its same Americana meets Texas-Mexico border approaches leading to dishes like waffles with ribs, egg plates with beans and tortillas, and a breakfast burrito. There are also morning drinks like beermosas and bloody marias. Brunch hours are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There are indoor and outdoor dine-in areas.

Ling Wu Asian Restaurant at the Grove

This Rosedale Chinese restaurant from chef Ling Qi Wu has been offering weekend dim sum since August. The usual suspects are available — dumplings, buns, rolls, rice, and noodles. Dim sum hours are from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Takeout orders can be placed online; there are indoor dine-in services.

The Irish pub by way of New York finally opened in downtown in July, bringing along its weekend Irish brunch menu. That means Irish breakfasts with eggs, blood pudding, grilled tomatoes, and potato bread (plus a vegetarian version), breakfast sandwiches made with soda bread, and potato bread pancakes, along with cocktails. Brunch hours are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There are indoor dine-in services.

The East Austin NOLA-ish restaurant and bar from Aaron Franklin and James Moody added weekend brunch to its lineup in June. This means fully loaded breakfast plates; steak and eggs with hash browns, and peaches and cream pancakes. Brunch hours are from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There are indoor and outdoor dine-in services.

East Austin Mexican restaurant Ma’Coco opened up this sports-ish bar and restaurant also in East Austin in August, with weekend brunch in tow. The New American-ish food menu means daytime steak and eggs, breakfast BLT sandwiches, double-stacked pancakes, and bottomless mimosas. Brunch hours are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There are indoor and outdoor dine-in services.

This revamped Rainey Street Mexican restaurant added a new brunch to its lineup in September. This means Mexican brunch dishes like masa pancakes served with labneh ice cream; the Continental breakfast plate but with pork belly, mole verde, sunny side up eggs, and roasted pineapples; and hamburgers layered with eggs and guacamole. There are also breakfast tacos and burritos. Brunch hours are from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There are indoor and outdoor dine-in services.

Uncle Nicky's [South Lamar]

The South Lamar expansion of the Hyde Park Italian cafe its weekend Italian-ish brunch is now available across the river. There are egg dishes like the Eggs Nicky, a poached egg dish with prosciutto, hollandaise, and focaccia; little ricotta pancakes; and toasted focaccia with orange-Champagne marmalade. Plus there are accompanying brunch cocktails like its fluffy Garibaldi, bloody marys, and mimosas. Brunch hours are from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Takeout orders can be placed online; there are indoor dine-in services.

We’re going to consider the farmers market stand’s new food truck menu as brunch-appropriate since it opened in early September in the Thicket food truck park. This is especially so because it includes egg-topped potato-poblano pepper pierogies paired with pork hash; among other dumpling goods. Its weekend hours start at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Takeout orders can be placed online or in person; there are outdoor dine-in areas.
