— Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, stars of television show Supernatural, hung out on Sixth Street this past weekend. This included a stop at San Jac Saloon, the bar that Padalecki co-owns. He previously told Eater he's a big fan of Fixe and Franklin Barbecue.

— UberEats users can order a free breakfast taco this morning from Chi’lantro, paired with tea from Cat Spring Yaupon, starting at 9 a.m. Update: 9:35 a.m.: It appears that UberEats ran out of the free breakfast tacos already, according to a tipster.

— It turns out the Austin Code Department isn't really up to snuff. An audit revealed that there is a major "lack of management oversight," like delayed inspections, paperwork not being updated, and unqualified staffers.

USA Today put Banger's on its list of best beer bars.

— Oh yes: Smokey Denmark's Smoked Meats is introducing a brisket bagel sandwich in the coming three weeks.

— Sportscaster Bob Costas stopped by Freedmen's yesterday.

Food & Wine Best New Chef and owner of Emmer & Rye Kevin Fink shared the grains he's obsessed with right now, such as white sonora wheat and fire-thrashed emmer.

— A property management firm, Stream Realty Partners, is buying up the area of land between Barton Springs Road, South 1st Street, and West Riverside, which houses Hooters. The company said the restaurant will remain open. Plans for the property include public space and affordable housing. The site also contains a portion of land owned by the family trust of Charles Schulz, the man behind Peanuts.

Saturday Night Live's Colin Jost said Austin has awesome barbecue, and plans on checking out the food trucks while he's in town for the Moontower Comedy and Oddity Festival this month.

— Michigan-based Bell’s Brewery is looking to distribute beer in Texas by next year. It's currently hiring for a regional business manager in the state.
