Katz's to Finally, Permanently Klose January 2

So much for never klosing: Katz's Deli is officially shuttering as of January 2. Despite owner Marc Katz's claim that the decision to close is due to his age — he said he doesn't want to be "like Brett Favre...waiting to leave until it's too late" — the downtown deli was in quite a bit of financial trouble: the state recently denied their Chapter 11 bankruptcy claim due to unpaid taxes.

Katz also squashed rumors that he has another deli in the works in the area. That's probably all right; we figure 24 Diner has you covered there.
