A new home!

Long time no see in Blogger land!!
We have been busy settling into our new home amongst other things.....that's my excuse ;)

Over at The Artistic Stamper Creative Team this month they are asking us to play along with them and use a quote ;)
This is barely in time but I could not post this till the recipient had opened it could I? ;)

So here is my entry....hope you like :)

The middle house of the trio was coloured, cut out and 3d'd.....sentiment layered up too.
Just a few die cut greenery shapes to finish off.
Stamps used "A house is just a house" and "Our house" from The Artistic Stamper.

Thanks for looking and happy stamping

Birthday Card at last

Been too caught up with what seems a never ending task lately!
Namely making cards for the hotel.

I've learnt that I can't keep up, work all week and have creative playtime...so sadly I've not been making anything!
We have agreed that I can't carry on like that so my designs are going to be used by a local printer to supply the hotel instead. Not quite hand made but I'm sure they will fit the bill.

On a brighter note....I did get some time to make a card last week....hurrah ;)

I spritzed some watercolour card with Dylusions and went from there....die cutting some different butterflies...Papertrey Ink and Sizzix. Some mini Tim Holtz stamps and large butterfly water coloured stamped, a sentiment from Papertrey finished it off. The wire butterflies layered on top just added that bit extra....a bargain from our local cheapo shop Bastins. :)

Designs for a client!

I've been designing a couple of things for a client!
Ooh! Get me....not a customer....a client!

New designs for welcoming back guests to a boutique hotel in Salcombe.
This is a watercolour of one of the bird decorations they have displayed...

...it's going to be  made into cards for the rooms, to greet the guests on arrival.

It's had so much positive feed back...feeling pleased that I'm getting it right for them.

Onwards to designing a greeting card for guests with birthdays/anniversaries
to celebrate, whilst keeping the hotels "style", and also being suitable for both male and female.....could be tricky!

I'll be back when I've cracked it!

Just her cup of tea - Feminine and Fancy too!

Mother's Day has been and gone so I can post the card I made for my MIL...
...not that she looks at this blog, but it doesn't seem right to show it before the occasion! ;)
A combination of Papertry Ink for the cups and "tea time" cartouche...Stampers Anonymous for the scroll work...and Chocolate Baroque for the beautiful sentiment...it's one of my all time favourites :)

We bought her a lovely floaty scarf from the National Trust shop at Buckland Abbey.

The tithe barn...huge it was too!

Modern reworked plaster ceiling...just fab!

It's quite remarkable to think that Sir Francis Drake actually walked around this place....you can't really say lived here as he spent so much time on the high seas!!! Is it any wonder both his marriages did not produce an heir!!!!?

A beautiful old vellum of Gregorian chant music.

I made a box to gift the scarf in...I might at last have got the gist of what the measurement differences ought to be for the top and bottom! Ha ha!
(Cut the bottom piece 2mm less than the top...i.e. Top 40x25 say, so bottom 38x23....that's if your card is not all that thick!)...well it worked for me in this instance. :)

Thanks for looking and MIL adored her scarf :)

Linking this card to Try it on Tuesday for this fornight's "Feminine and Fancy" challenge

Impossible elephant!

I made a little quirky card using Tim's images.

Bicycle stamped in archival plum
Elephant stamped in archival coffee...Using a stamp positioner to get him poised just right... LOL ;)
Sentiment in archival aquamarine
birthday wishes cartouche stamped in fired brick.

Layered onto a distress coloured base of fired brick.

I needed that...been missing some stamping recently...too busy with life, work and trying to sort out my Etsy studio!

I've had one sale so far from a dear friend...
(what a lovely surprise that first sale was)
...and I think something pretty awesome can't be far off...
...fingers crossed.

Thanks for looking.

Card available in my Etsy studio...see side bar.

Happy Annniversary

Sharing an anniversary card I made this week.

Can't believe its a year since they married!!!

Just simple one layer stamping....carefully choosing the colours so that it does not look like you just stamped the images willy nilly fashion.....ROFL!

The butterfly was stamped and masked before adding the other background images.
(All T!m Holtz apart from the sentiment which is Papertrey Ink)

Coffee card and Bristol.

We have spent the weekend in Bristol celebrating a special 30th birthday.
Here is the card I made for my super step son James......don't think I will ever get used to writing that word.....step son.....Lol

It's based on one of Tim's 2015 tags.....and as James likes his Costa coffee I incorporated the logo.

I do like the idea of slipping a gift card under the cup :)

It was gifted in a Costa bag for added measure ;)

Meal out at The Cowshed......fab night, lovely food and wonderful company :)
My Tiramisu journey ;)

Can't wait for the next time we can all do it again :)

Wedding card

Happy weekend!
We are at a wedding this weekend and of course I made a card.
You might think "I've seen that before somewhere!"
Well you are not going mad you have seen nearly the exact same one here.

I can't seem to improve on this design...
...I really like it and the couples I have made it for do too!

This time though I made a little gift card voucher holder to go with it...
...except it actually has some money inside.
It uses up the "scrapling" sized piece of card you get when you cut a square card from an A4 sheet.

The sentiment is from Chocolate Baroque stamped on a distress inked background that is actually a digital item....I took a photo of the original inked piece 'cos I loved the colour combo so.....now I can print it out and use it anytime I like! :)

My Valentine ;)

My Valentine card for my honey bee was based on the inspiration tag for Feb from T!m.
I used the blocking technique for the background and sort of some of the feel of his tag...except no stamping at all apart from the date stamp in the top corner!!!
Shocking I know!! LOL
The rest were die cuts and a heart I hand cut from some felt!

Inside was a digital collage of elements from Designer Digitals (love the stuff there).

I've just noticed I can link this to the current That's Crafty Challenge...so that's what I will do :)

Birds for the Sunday Stamper

I made a card for a special birthday (70th) although I don't think the recipient, my sweethearts Auntie, is too keen on publicising the fact! Can't say as I blame her :) I don't feel much like publicising my big "0" birthday later this year either!!! LOl

Still....as they say....you are only as old as you feel! Problem is the damaged deltoid muscle in my shoulder has been so painful I have begun to despair of ever being pain free again....although it is slowly...very slowly improving each day!!!
Ooh! Just a thought....is the saying "You are only as old as the person you are feeling"?
Well that might work!!!
ROFL :)

I just love that feather (Hot off the Press)....free with a magazine last month...super :)
Flower from The Artistic Stamper, sentiment from a magazine and the rest T!m Holtz.

Just a card

Just a little card I made for one of the guy's at work.

Using T!m's Paris map background and car stamped onto T!m printed 12x12 papers. The middle bit of the Paris map did not print too well so I filled in with a Wendy Vechi sentiment to avert a complete disaster!! ROFL
Die cut words to finish.

Thanks for looking.

For a wedding

A couple of weeks ago we spent the weekend at a wedding in Salcombe.
The South Sands Hotel where we had our wedding in May :) Big aaah!!

This is the card I made for Asta and Tony on their special day.

A gift card made from the off cut of making a square card from an A4 piece of paper...otherwise known as a scrapling.

The happy couple

and some snippets from the day....

Beautiful canapes and fizz of course ;)

The service held in the restaurant area...

....which transformed to this for the wedding meal....

Cocktails after the ceremony.

....Asta is originally from Lithuania....and in Lithuania weddings cannot happen unless the guests are given vodka with the wedding meal!!!

Afraid it made some of the guests exit for their bedrooms rather early if you get my drift!! LOL
Us? We danced and danced again reliving our big day...
...it was so nice to be there again :)

Asta hired a singing waiter.....honestly he was the best turn Ive seen in some time!
fabulous voice and so good at getting everyone in the mood for some fun :)

A very lovely arty seashell tree made by Yvonne for the entrance.

Gorgeous candlelight all around..

Cutting of the traditional Lithuanian cake...

made by Marta the lady with black hair...

...me thinks she should go on Bake Off have you seen those perfect layers?!
(Yvonne with the blonde hair is the creative tree lady)

It was so warm we were outside on the terrace with no coats....Asta and Tony were so lucky to have such wonderful weather at this time of year.

But then South Sands is a place where magic can happen :)

The same but different!

Hi there!
Two cards started off in the same way, but ending up just different enough to give to two chaps at work whose birthdays are this week.
The "David" stamped with Archival and masked.
Then one was spritzed with Dylusions postbox red and Glimmer Mist patina.

The other was masked and the remaining spray left on my non stick mat was dabbed on with a damp baby wipe.
(The less vibrant one).
David roughly coloured with Distress antique linen.
Distress victorian velvet used to stamp some swirly bits around the edges.
Distress vintage photo for the T!m pen nibs and alphabet block.
Versafine black for the T!m numbers and long wording and also the circular Birthday Wishes which was free with a magazine.....the magazine was not my taste and would have been a waste of money apart from the stamps!!! LOL
