Ariete Hospitality Group’s namesake and flagship, Ariete has been awarded a Michelin Star in each of the three years Florida has had a Michelin Guide. Over the eight years since its opening in historic Coconut Grove, the restaurant has established itself as a leader in defining a culinary voice not only for Miami, but for a Cuban diaspora whose cuisine had been largely stunted since 1959. Merging old Latin tradition, South Florida ingredients and high-level French technique, Ariete is a restaurant that could only have been born in Miami.
Executive Chef & Owner Michael Beltran
No one in the restaurant business is more maniacally Miami than Ariete Hospitality Group chef-owner Michael Beltran. Born in Hialeah, raised in Little Havana, and trained at some of Miami’s most celebrated restaurants under legendary chefs, Mike is at the forefront of a new generation of South Florida chefs helping the region to not only establish itself as a destination for world-class cuisine, but also to define its culinary voice for the long haul.
Chef Mike’s vision guides all of Ariete Hospitality Group’s concepts. He grew up watching his Cuban exile grandparents bring people together with food and honed his skills at some of Miami’s most celebrated restaurants. If Beltran family cooks instilled in him a love for food as a tool for deepening relationships, his professional mentors opened his eyes to high-level technique and the possibilities of cuisine as a vehicle for storytelling.
Together, those ideas are at the core of all of Chef Mike’s work, which has been recognized with two James Beard Award semifinalist nods (Best Chef: South) and StarChefs Rising Star honors.
