Description

Quickly send a link from your iOS device to your Mac.

This app receives links from your iOS device and opens them.

For example, share a link from Safari on your iPhone or iPad and have it open in the default browser on your Mac.

You can send a link even if your iOS device and/or Mac are offline. The link will be sent and received the next time the devices are online. The link will never be lost. The devices do not need to be on the same network.

Your iOS device and Mac must have iCloud enabled and be signed into the same Apple ID account.

My personal use-case is that I often discover cool stuff when I check Twitter on the go and I want to dig deeper into it later on my Mac. I have tried Instapaper, Pocket, Safari Reading List, iCloud Tabs, and more. The problem with them all is that I forget to check them.

You can even use this app to trigger shortcuts on your Mac from your iOS device. See the website for more info.

■ FAQ

‣ How is it better than AirDrop?

- Works when your Mac is offline
- Works when you are not on the same network as your Mac
- Much faster
- Opens links on your Mac in the background

‣ How is it better than iCloud Tabs?

- Works in any app with a share sheet, not just Safari
- Links are opened as tabs in your browser so you cannot miss them
- No need to spend time looking for the link in a long list of links
- Supports any browser on your Mac
- You don't need to keep the tab open on your iOS device for it to be available on your Mac

‣ How is it better than Safari Reading List?

- Links are opened right in your browser so you cannot miss them
- No need to spend time looking for the link in a long list of links
- Supports any browser on your Mac

‣ Can you support multiple Macs?

No. I would like to keep the app simple.

Great App - Quick tips though...

Another really great and simple app from Sindre.

Quick Tip #1: You have to install this on both your iOS device and your Mac. -- I discovered this in the app store while on my Mac... but didn't see any instruction that I needed to install it on my iPhone as well. At first I was just really impressed that it was some how clever at just detecting my Mac on the local network. I quickly realized it needed to be installed on both and it worked straight away.

Quick Tip #2: After you hit "Share" on your phone... look closely to find the "Send to Mac" item. In the screenshots it shows it at the top, for me, it was buried halfway down mixed in with other apps and Shortcuts actions, etc.

Meets my use case PERFECTLY

Hyperduck is phenomenal! I’m always sending myself links so that I can take a look at them later, but I usually forget to check the messages that I’ve sent myself. I’ll occasionally check the messages that I’ve sent myself on my Mac, but that isn’t always the best approach, especially for some time sensitive links that I have simply forgotten about. Hyperduck fixes that and does it in a seamless way. No more typing out my contact info every time I want to view a link on my Mac or save that link for later! Bye bye shortcut that I made just so that I can fix this particular issue of mine. Thank you Sindre Sorhus for making this time saving app!

Big improvement for my life

If I was someone who didn't mind doing everything on my phone maybe I wouldn't love this app so much. But there's a lot of stuff I just don't want to deal with on my phone or on the go. I used to copy and paste URLs into Tot (also a great app) and then I'd have to remember to go deal with them later. Now I just hit the share sheet and press "Send to Mac" and the next time I'm at my computer it's already open in my browser! It's a delight.
