Heyo! This is my 4th contest on here!

This time, I'm doing something a little different... This contest is exclusive to haikus!

The theme for this contest is the word-prompt: Cheese

I LOVE cheese!!!!!! There are so many types, flavors, and ways to enjoy it. So, write about cheese and let your creativity shine! Heck, make me hungry while you're at it!

Guidelines:

- Your entry must be a haiku (5-7-5 syllable format). Please double-check your syllable count.
- No adult-themes.
- No AI-generated poetry or images. If you’d like to include an image, create your own art or use a stock image instead.
- All attached images will be run through multiple AI detectors. If an image is consistently flagged, I will not include your entry in the finalists.

Commenting on each other's poems is encouraged! ^_^

Judging Notes

Hi everyone!

I’d like to start with a friendly reminder: please make sure to read the contest guidelines carefully. I specifically mentioned that AI-generated images are not allowed, yet two entries included them.

In the past, I’ve removed entries with AI-generated images from my contests entirely. However, moving forward, I’ve decided not to include these entries as finalists instead. I am grateful for every submission, and it feels unfair to disqualify an entry outright when the poem itself is well-crafted.

That said, I hope you can understand my perspective. Just as it takes time, care, and effort to craft a meaningful poem, creating visual art is also a deeply personal and creative process. While no one here on Allpoetry would appreciate reading AI-generated poetry, I feel the same about being presented with AI-generated images. Art is poetry, and poetry is art!

Now, onto the judging! You all shared such a wonderful variety of cheese-themed haikus! I discovered new kinds of cheese, imagined endless flavors, and envisioned all the ways they could pair with other foods. Hosting contests like this is such a joy because, even with the same prompt, every entry is unique and full of personality.
