So it's been a while! I've been busy, you know, the fucking insane silly season, school holidays, playing minecraft, oh, and the Fanexus Beta.

It's really so cool. The tagging system alone *swoon*

Here's my profile/blog/whatever you want to call it: Fanexus Screenshot

Blogs aren't customisable in beta, but apparently that's a thing on the roadmap for the future.

One of the things that I like the most is the ability to have different aliases, or blogs, on the same account. Being able to switch between identities with a click is amazing, especially for someone like me who does keep completely separate identities in fandom (I separated due to having a kid in fandom - my child does not need to know where to find my fanfiction 🤣).

So far on the site (which is absolutely a functioning site right now) there is a lot of art being shared, and a decent amount of fic, and some meta and headcanons and general squee 🥳 Yes, the demographic is young, but there are no minors on the site yet. There are a few of us fandom olds there, but we could definitely do with some more! I'm also dying to see some more Supernatural content that I haven't been the one to post ;)

If you're curious, best to get on the beta discord asap, as discord members are being let on in stages. Here is the Fanexus Discord Application - it says 'forum' on the app, but the discord is where all the action is and where you'll then go on to the beta site :D

ETA: I can't believe I forgot to rave about another amazing feature - following tags! Like you can follow your fave tags and the stuff you're into just gets delivered into your feed like...IT'S SO COOL.

Saw the neurologist yesterday, she explained the MRIs and the lumbar puncture results, tickled my feet and had me walk the line.

I won't be passing any sobriety tests any time soon, that's for sure 🤣

I officially have MS (Multiple Sclerosis).

So, yay! Like, answers for why my body has been crapping out on me for the last 5 years or so. And like, knowing what happens next and shit. And being 'in the system' so if/when I need whatever, I can get it.

I've been real quiet around here lately and it's all Fanexus' fault. I've been hanging out on the discord a lot where we're all just bouncing around doing little impatience dances and waiting for the beta to launch.

It's so exciting seeing it take shape as each new feature is announced.

I think what I'm most hyped for is aliases. Like, one account, but up to 3 blogs, usernames, feeds. Three completely separate selfs! I can be vamp, and be all SFW and not panic if my kid looks me up, but I can also be [AO3 PSEUD REDACTED] and just let all my problematic fic hang out without the two identities being connected AND without having to log in and out all the time because who can be arsed with that?

Also looking forward to following tags. And blocking tags. Being able to play in fandom without having to scroll past the screeds of popular-ship-I-cannot-abide.

And I'm looking forward to fandoming without fear again. Because it's been too fucking long.

So my bestest fandom friend of all my fandom friends ([personal profile] venis_envy) sent me a link to this trailer today muttering something about vengeance and guyliner and that bloody Pattinson bloke (okay that last bit might have been me):

Angsty, dirty, greasy hair, smudged guyliner, fucking Pattinson. We both agree we're completely fucked.

I bought it. I'm (probably) going to read it.

It's fat. Like, twice the size of Twilight. Edward Cullen is apparently a wordy (angsty, broody, having of the epic manpain) bastard.

Posting starts soon!

I'm still editing, but I completed an old WiP and I'm really rather pleased with myself. Also, it's the first time I've had something beta'd in frickin years, and, holy shit, had my bad habits returned in droves. Poor [personal profile] dreamersdare *hangs head in shame*

Turning off comments on your works | Archive of Our Own

In the next few days, we will be adding a new option that allows work creators to turn off comments. The option will be available on the forms for posting or editing individual works as well as the form for updating multiple works at once, and we've done some minor rearranging of the forms to accommodate the new option.

Holy crap, this is huge. For those who maybe cannot deal with comments (sometimes they're scary) or who simply don't care (valid), this is brilliant.

I'm missing diving deep into fandom with all the discussions and stuff. I'm hardly on mastodon lately there's just no point, and there's all these lovely posts on DW but I simply cannot parse anything at the moment.

Just quietly I suspect I maybe having a relapse or flare or whatever it's called. I'm less capable of dealing with the noise of conversations around me, there's something crawled in underneath my ribs, I'm slower than usual, fucking exhausted, sleeping a truckload, my hands are stiff and aching, there's an entirely new my-skin-is-on-fire sensation, and I just cannot read a longish post and understand it properly right now.

And what's really annoying is that I had a neurologist appointment later this month that I was weirdly looking forward to because answers, finally, and it's been cancelled and I don't have a new one yet.

So, yeah. But I'm good. Just had to get that out because frustration.

Started watching Hannibal for the second time (the first time I didn't really get into it).

First season, and I'm thinking: hannigram? I don't get it. I want to get it, but I don't.

Second season: HERE IT IS

Yeah, that's all. I'm not very talkative lately, just kinda wanted to record that. Taking a break to catch up on Outlander before I hit the third season.

(part 1)

This guy:

Lunatic Cultist

Inspired this guy:

Materials: 3 metres royal blue polycotton poplin, and probably a little over a fat quarter of the same in yellow. Plague mask.

The hood was a cross between the skjoldehamn hood and a generic medieval hood. Could have been roomier on Biscuit but it did the job.

Also the sleeves could have been longer. That kid just keeps getting longer.

The poplin was easy as pie to work with. Except I think my iron is on it's last legs. It was at the lowest setting and still threatened to scorch the polycotton.

In terms of the con itself, well. It was quiet. Small, definitely less people, also less stalls. Good for introverts Biscuit and I, but relatively underwhelming overall. But not surprising considering covid and we're really lucky to have had one at all.

Friending/Commenting

Feel free to sub, I don't expect intros or whatever. If we have stuff in common, I'll likely sub back.

Feel free to comment. If you can see it, it's fair game. We don't have to have spoken before. Don't be a dick and we'll get along fine :D

I, personally, suck at commenting, because social anxiety. I'm pretty good about replying on my own posts, but I sometimes go days without getting on the computer. Feel free to hit me up on Mastodon.

Links to my AO3 are via an access list. Hit me up if you want on it.
