We are finally getting into the groove of our kitchen reno and really enjoying it! We are still trying to decide if we will put any window coverings on our Fieldstone Windows. It's such a pretty view outside, so I dunno. The windows are pretty all on their own too.  Hmm.. Decisions decisions. For the island we offset the light to add a bit of whimsy. The rattan light is handcrafted in Morocco and available here in our shop. It counter balances with the sink and created a social area at one end of the island.

We are big believers in having a social area in the kitchen. If possible, bring a sofa into your kitchen / great room. It is so beautifully enjoyable. This Farlov sectional sofa is from IKEA but it is unfortunately discontinued. We love love love it. The good news tho, is that the Farlov sofa is still available. For the win. We've updated this space with curtains and curtain rods, with the links to the curtain rods etc at the bottom of this page here. )

The organic white Quartz countertop is a fave (the name of it is Kasker off white marble effect at IKEA) It's shaped with an arch at one end to make a cohesive look with the wood arch into the pantry. It also made for more island seating and a nice rounded area to sit around. LOVE. We layered wood under the counter to make it even look even more creative !
