Mixed Media Fine Art

From a graphic artist in the city to a solo artist in the country, I have enlarged my palette through inspiration and experimentation to where I now produce intensely graphic images with less-traditional materials and methods.

My works have always engaged the viewer by their unusaul materials and textures.  They do not look like typical two dimensional art . . . oil paintings or watercolors. 

My medium is mixed-media art on textiles and paper using a variety of surface design techniques including screen printing, dyeing, painting, sewing and embellishing. More recently, I began to experiment with a technique I call "Canvas Mosaics", where I paint large pieces of canvas with acrylic paints, then cut them up and use the pieces to form a mosaic image which I quilt and embellish.

I'm inspired by the world around me with all its colors and forms... from the large and grand to the small and intimate.

I find beauty in all things especially the commonplace and overlooked.  From the artistry and elegance of nature to that of our human artifacts and infrastructure I'm interested in the shape, color and orm of my subjects and show them in unique perspectives.
