Here is a rundown of where you can “find” or “friend” or “follow” me on Social Media: My email list (via MailChimp) — a great way to stay informed about all my endeavors! Once every few months, I send out an update with all of my upcoming events, new books & writings, music releases, and so on. If you are primarily interested in my music, I have a separate *soft vowel sounds*/Bitesize email list for that. Patreon — I am a “creator” there, which means that if you choose to support me (with monthly pledges for as little as $1 per month) you will get behind-the-scenes updates, plus access to some of my in-progress and unpublished writings, and the chance for rewards such as free e-books or signed copies of my books! Bluesky (@juliaserano.bsky.social) — this is the platform I am most active on. It resembles Twitter, but is algorithm-free, doesn't suppress links, and has far better moderation. So if you’re interested in my off-the-cuff remarks and day-to-day musings, this is where you’ll find them. I maintain a presence on all the following sites, where I periodically post about my latest writings or videos, but I am not otherwise active there:
TikTok (@juliaserano) — I’ve only posted two videos so far, but hope to become more active there in the future. Medium and Substack — this is where I publish my latest online essays. New essays are cross-posted to both sites, so feel free to follow or subscribe to me on either. Bandcamp and Soundcloud — these are sites where you can listen to and/or buy my music (with Bandcamp being the far more comprehensive of the two). Those links will bring you to the corresponding pages for my now defunct noise-pop/indie-rock band Bitesize. I also have Bandcamp and Soundcloud pages for my current solo music project *soft vowel sounds*. ye olde blog (via Blogger/Blogspot) — lots of old (but worthwhile!) essays and personal posts. These days, I mostly use it to post updates about my writings, performances, interviews, etc. Goodreads and Amazon — my author pages for these book-related sites. If you appreciate any of my books, PLEASE GIVE THEM GOOD REVIEWS THERE — it really helps with internet searches & recommendations! ResearchGate and Academia.edu — sites where I post my academic/research papers. Relatedly, I also have a Google Scholar page. Linktree — provides links to my many websites and social media accounts (much like this webpage, albeit less thorough and wordy). LinkedIn — while I have an account there, I have discontinued using it. So please do not bother trying to connect with me there. Email — if you want to contact me (e.g., about booking me for a talk/performance), this is the best way. So that is it. If your favorite social media platform is not listed above, then I am probably not on it. Sorry... |
