Why and How to Participate?
Why?
One of the strengths of ISO/IEC/ITU-T standards is that they are created by the people who need them. Industry and academic experts drive all aspects of the standard development process, from deciding whether a new standard is needed to defining all its technical content.
Getting involved in this process can bring significant advantages to your business but also to your research. For example, by:
- getting early access to information that could shape the market in the future,
- giving your company or research team the opportunity to identify challenging problems that need a standard to be appropriately addressed,
- having an impact in the definition of future multimedia standards.
How to get involved?
Standards are developed by teams of experts called Working Groups. Working Groups experts are nominated by National Bodies. If you are interested in getting involved, contact the National Body representative in your country. Contact details can be found in the list of national members. For specific information related to JPEG standardization, you can contact JPEG convener and/or .
How to access and submit JPEG documents?
As an accredited member of JPEG (through your National Body), you will receive a user name and a password to access the JPEG document management system where all JPEG documents are accessible. Once you have received the credentials to access the JPEG document management system, you can see details about how to access and how to submit documents to JPEG by pressing here.
