If you want to keep it really sleek looking, you may want to consider asking the cabinetmaker to route the tops of the drawers with a groove to be used as a handle. This is more common on stained pieces then on painted however and I might be concerned about the painted finish. I would probably start by googling images of dressers with flat front drawers to get some ideas about what you are looking for. If you had an inspiration handle we will help you find it. I had a cabinet with drawers made for my laundry room, the drawers are flat/slab front and the cabinet is painted gray/green. I used flat black T-knobs. And I do think they dress it up. I wouldnt completely rule out bar pulls either, this West Elm dresser has flat front drawers, uses bar pulls and is pretty 'sleek' IMO

I like color in my bedroom - that is just personal preference and my choices are not in the more modern gray tones. I might have that same bedroom furniture - and I have gold trim in my bathroom:) My bedroom is light blue and the bathroom walls are a white with a gray undertone - goes with the tile. I think lots of colors are possible. If you prefer some of the more modern "grays" SW Sea Salt has a green / blue cast to it that could be pretty in the room. Hi Elizabeth! Looking at your idea book photos, you seem to be well on your way! Those photos offer good ideas of where you might go with your decor. I'm partial to the Huntington Morrison club chair you have in your idea book for its color and shape. You could place that to the left of the bed angled out from the corner. I love the poufs you have selected! You might put two or three of those (depending on the size) at the end of the bed. The Emira bench you selected might be good under the window as a faux window seat. You could think about a floating shelf under the sky picture to give it more presence. If you have a chair there, it would be a place for a few books to sit and maybe a couple of the framed photos from the dresser. I would be tempted to swap out the mirror over the bed for a bigger piece of art. You might consider something with some texture or dimension, like a fiber art piece. Personally, I think the standing mirror near the door should hang on the wall. It think that would help it offer better symmetry to the outside door opposite. Were you thinking to add a rug like one of your idea book rooms? (if your carpet is plush, don't put a rug under the foot of the bed, you'll have unflattenable wrinkles.) You'd have to be careful of the color and pattern if you like the poufs idea! Are you considering painting the tray ceiling blue, like the other idea book rooms? That would be quite striking!
