I love going to new places, soaking in the colors and textures, then designing florals that feel like an extension of that natural environment. I started traveling for events after just one year in business, and I still travel all over the world to teach floral design, as well as create flowers for weddings and art installations. The Approach: My process is very much influenced by the location and the season. I usually meet my clients at their venue, and together we discuss why they chose to have their event there and how they want their guests and the environment to feel. Then, we take inspiration from our favorite elements in the surroundings to design what we feel is an expression of them as a couple, considering the place. I am based in Utah, but I travel for most of my work. My team is a collection of the most wonderful professionals from all over the country. Our work is so rooted in nature, and we see the need to protect it and respect it. We work with seasonal ingredients, sourced from British growers where possible, and like the character of individual flowers to shine through in every design we make. This gives a ‘quirky’ feel and a lack of pretension to everything. We think that singles us out in the market. The Approach: Most of our team have backgrounds in art and gardening rather than floristry. We like to use British artists and craftspeople to collaborate with on large events, where we are involved with several aspects of design beyond flowers. We like to work closely and directly with our clients, and never solely via the intermediary of an event planner. Ideally, a design is based on a brief that comes from a wide area of the client’s life and interests, rather than a selection of photographs of previous events. We liken the process to haute couture bespoke design, in a very much more down to earth way. We like our clients to feel that they are woking with complete professionals and to enjoy the process of commissioning us to surprise and delight them. The studio's work is informed by our almost synesthetic relationship with nature and a commitment to sustainability. Our unique signature style is refined yet wild blooms paired according to habitat and season. The studio works very closely with a British grower and we are very much part of the entire process, from selecting seeds to harvesting flowers for our weddings and events. The Approach: Our process starts with understanding which seasonal flowers sing to, and of, the couple. It then weaves its way to inform the color palette for the day, from the ceremony flowers to the table styling. We want our clients to feel connected to nature and what is growing at the time of year that they are getting married. We are currently working on a project to grow specifically for our clients so that they really are part of the process from the beginning.Weddings of Note: Discretion is a key part of our business. At a recent wedding, we hung ceiling garlands made out of jasmine but kept the roots intact so that it could be replanted afterwards; it now scrambles up the young family’s London home. BAZAAR's Little Black Book: The Top Wedding Florists in the World

Introducing: the best in blooms.

By and

You might be working with one of the country's best planners and secured one of the best photographers out there, but your ceremony, tablescapes, and bouquet should be thoughtful–and conceptualized by a five-star floral designer. If you are working with a wedding designer, perhaps he or she will design the florals—or, they'll likely tap a name from this list to excute their vision. Remember, there's no exact formula to what makes a dream team of vendors; leave it to your planner to advise on how your design team should come together, and the key players needed to bring the ideas you love to life.

We tapped the expertise of our favorite florists for tips on how to make your wedding the best it can be, as well as details on their look, vibe, and process to help you hone in on who you'll book. Below, our shortlist of floral designers to tap for your upcoming celebrations.

The Look: Our look is romantic, enticing and decadent, a nod to still-life paintings of Dutch masters—with a modern twist.

The Approach: Our goal is to immerse clients into our world of flowers and design. To us, florals are more than just an accent to the overall space, they create an experience and tell a story. We are the designers for people who are obsessed with color and nature.

Expert Advice: Instead of having florals everywhere, try to focus on impactful moments and installations. This will create more of an impact for guests and to the space. Maybe it’s all about the tablescape, a focal arrangement, or a hanging piece. Don’t be afraid to think big!

Wedding to Note: Last year we created our dream wedding for Gwyneth Paltrow! We have also focused on incredible destination weddings in places like Italy, Hawaii, and Bosnia.

The Look: Natural yet elegant. Our work strives to find the delicate balance of being natural, wild, and organic—while also feeling elegant and classic.

The Approach: Each flower package is highly customized, so we take on a limited number of weddings each year with the goal of exceeding expectations and providing our clients (and their guests) with an incomparable and memorable experience.

Expert Advice: Find a florist whose vision you trust. I find that when we work with clients who trust us to carry out their vision, our best and most special work happens.

Weddings of Note: One of my favorite recent weddings was Marc Jacobs and Char Defrancesco's this past Spring. Marc loves Cherry Blossoms, so we had several 18-foot white Cherry Blossom trees created. We continued that design around the entire Seagram Building with sculptural Cherry Blossom arrangements throughout the space, including in the hanging orbs that frame the room.

The Look: Seasonal, wild, and natural—with a yummy take on color.

The Approach: My goal is to reflect my client’s interpretation of beauty so that their event is a true reflection of them.

Expert Advice: I love peonies just as deeply as the next person, but I really don’t love a peony that’s out of season. Familiarize yourself with the floral stars of your wedding season, and don't get too attached to a particular flower. A flower in its season is bursting with life and rightness. Seasonality makes sense on so many levels, from sustainability to cost. It's far better to focus on palette and vibe and give your designer the freedom to use the best seasonal blooms to that end.

The Look: I started designing with flowers because I wanted to make a little portrait of my surroundings.

Expert Advice: Allow your florist a bit of freedom to run with things! Just like any artist, a floral artist's work is best when they have been given a bit of trust to do what they are inspired by. Embrace the season's flowers, and explore more colors.

The Look: Using the best local and imported flowers we create soft, romantic, and effortless florals with an emphasis on designing for destination weddings.

The Approach: We strive to create a tailored wedding for every one of our couples. Getting to know about our client is key to creating an environment through floral that represents them genuinely. Since about 80 percent of our weddings are destination events, we are able to design wonderfully bespoke weddings by using local florals.

Expert Advice: A wedding planner is a must. If your planner isn't a designer and the look of the event is especially important to you, hire a wedding designer as well. They will help to keep your vision cohesive and lovely throughout, tapping us to execute the floral design.

Weddings of Note: We recently created the floral design for the weddings of Joe Jonas & Sophie Turner in France, Kacey Musgraves & Ruston Kelly in Nashville, and Devon Windsor & Jonathan Barbara in St. Barth’s.

The Look: Our aesthetic is unique, artful, and color-filled. While working with neutral palettes is commonplace for many of our weddings, we truly shine when couples embrace color and allow us creative freedom.

The Approach: Our process is more akin to interior design or architecture, to ensure that our flower-filled spaces are cohesive and unique. While we are based in New York, we have a team of more than 50 people around the world, and more than 80% of our weddings are destination experiences. Our clients wholly trust us to come up with amazing designs, and are delighted by the results.

Expert Advice: Popular flowers (garden roses, peonies, ranunculus, poppies, tulips, etc.) are nearly always in season somewhere in the world, but they are far more costly to acquire if they're not available locally.

The Look: Our signature aesthetic is inspired by a loose, organic, garden-inspired style. We consider color, composition, and texture to create well-composed arrangements.

The Approach: We approach each client with a fresh perspective and strive to create design concepts that feel specific to each couple. We do our best to understand each person's personal style, then infuse their special day with those personal touches. Throughout the process we believe that communication and attention to detail is just as important as the flowers that we show up with on the wedding day.

Expert Advice: We encourage brides to keep an open min when approaching flowers. We find that when you let the season's colors and floral varieties steer your design direction, the result is always better.

Weddings of Note: We are so fortunate to work with the amazing Blue Hill at Stone Barns often. It's a magical venue that always creates very high caliber events.

The Look: A raw, unexpected clash of colors and materials tailored to the client's event. Our look is twisted, contemporary, and deeply natural. We aim to always work with local and seasonal product, bring an artistic—not mainstream—approach to the table.

The Approach: We look for inspiration in unexpected places, and infuse what matters most to our clients into the design. Our team is the best combination of extremely professional and kind people; our clients feel trusting, excited for their big day, and know that they are getting something uniquely personal from us. On the day of, our goal is that our couples feel happiness on a deep level, and can let go of the logistics and enjoy their day as a guest.

Expert Advice: Skip Pinterest, trust your florist. Keep the season in mind with your flowers and location. Focus less on trends, and more on originality.

The Look: We place sustainability very high on our list of priorities.

Budgets are established early on, and we never ever charge more than we have agreed.

Expert Advice: Pick a floral designer who you admire, rather than trying to get someone to copy someone else’s style. Be open with your total budget and then trust them to bring your dream to reality.

Weddings of Note: The Weddings of TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall in 2005 and TRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in 2011.

The Look: I am a chef and a florist; my approach to flower arranging is similar to the way I plan and cook a meal. My approach is ingredient-forward, considering the season; I make decisions based on the specific wedding, collaborating with growers and sellers, and treat flowers and foliage gently to let them shine.

The Approach: Each collaboration is unique, but the process always includes listening, dreaming, sketching, looking at images, and playing with flowers until we have a really good plan in place. The execution is always a team effort. My team is phenomenal—most of us have been together for decades; we work and laugh hard.

Expert Advice: Really think about how you envision the day unfolding, the experience you want for yourself, your partner, and your guests. Communication is key to ensuring your vision comes to life.

Weddings of Note: One of my favorite recent weddings was inspired by the bride’s love of Dutch Masters painting. There was no specific color palette, and each arrangement was a one off.

The Look: People typically describe my look as romantic. I like an interesting and sophisticated color palette. My goal is to make arrangements look effortless, as if they were made by nature.

The Approach: We are an all female team. I have a really specialized group of collaborators that are hired for projects, depending on the location. We have local knowledge and an international standard. My aesthetic is heavily influenced by the fact that we grow a lot of our own blooms. Nature is really my muse.

Expert Advice: Bigger is not always better. Unfortunately, some clients fall for a bombastic, in-your-face style. There is no subtlety there. I like a sense of harmonious proportion that makes the florals look intimate and elegant, like somebody made them with care.

Weddings of Note: I am particularly proud of the fact that we have gotten to be very proficient in doing destination weddings. We have done events in nearly every climate, on three continents, and to very exacting standards.

The Look: We take an artful approach to our projects. We really get into how the couple, the location, and the vibe they want to create work together and find the synergy between those different elements to create magic via flowers. We pay close attention to details and nuance.

The Approach: My process is very collaborative. Working with the planner, the couple, the location, logistics, the weather, and the vibe, I figure out what will create the most impact.

Expert Advice: If you can't hire a wedding planner, don't have a wedding. I know this sounds harsh, but hear me out. A large event can be stressful and there are many details that need to be taken care of; that responsibility should not be your stress. A good wedding planner can help you navigate costs and figure out what works for your budget and style.

Weddings of Note: We don't kiss and tell; but what I will tell you is that the most extravagant wedding that we have done to date was insanely beautiful and only experienced by 50 guests—how glamorous is that?!

The Approach: Every client is unique. We bring them into our studio and into our minds as much as we can during the process. The design process can be incredibly engaging and a way to form an even deeper connection between our couples and nature.

Expert Advice: Your bouquet is for you, not for your audience. I strongly believe that a bouquet is a supremely personal item that should make you feel at ease. It should be an extension of your attire, something that doesn't overshadow, but embodies you in flowers.

The Look: When designing, I lean towards romance and trying to capture the wild beauty of nature herself. Flowers are inherently romantic and wild, so my job is to be a liaison between the medium and the client.

The Approach: I’m lucky that most (if not all) of my clients trust me. We work together to build the layers of the design till it’s perfectly them. My hope is that all my clients feel heard, expressed, and in love with every detail. My team is small and tight knit; we travel the world together to create beautiful events, and we adore each other and our jobs.

Expert Advice: Stick to the flowers that are in season. You will be reminded every year when that bloom comes around of your wedding day, and most florists love to use what’s fleeting and seasonal

Weddings of Note: I like to have my clients feel that they can trust me with their privacy, but since we live in Los Angeles, we have had our fair share of celebrity clients.

The Look: Dancerly and lyrical, elegant with an edge, rich and romantic. I studied both landscape architecture and dance, and I want my flowers to embody the experiential, emotional qualities of those two art forms.

The Approach: Highly collaborative, with the understanding we are just one part of a much bigger team. I envision your wedding as an evolving, immersive story. In our process, we stress the importance of how the day will not just look, but feel, and design our flowers to help choreograph that feeling as the night unfolds. Think of me as a Flower Fairy Godbrother; it starts with listening, then dreaming, and finally making some magical moves to turn that pumpkin into a golden carriage and Gus Gus into that horse.

Expert Advice: Get married in March for the absolute best flowers of the year.

The Look: Although our signature look is always evolving, we would describe it as less-designed, and filled with natural movement. We enjoy local and uncommon blooms and always source those first. Our bouquets are organic in feel and filled with depth, movement, and space.

The Approach: We invite our clients to engage their unique flavor into the design process, then we color their worlds with unique variations and combinations of blooms and bits they may have never seen before.

Expert Advice: So many couples come in with a very solid vision for their big day. Hire a florist you connect with and trust him or her to dream a little bigger, fuller, and brighter. Don't forget the greenery—less is sometimes not more.

The Look: Organic yet elegant. Inspired by nature, we love lush blooms with unique, yet mature color combinations that highlight the natural movement and texture of each element in the design.

The Approach: We love collaborating with our clients to help them tell their story and discover how their personal style translates to the flower world. We approach design with a relaxed, authentic sensibility, where our clients trust our knowledge to guide them to a sophisticated, cohesive look.

Expert Advice: Incorporating locally grown greenery and floral is a great way to achieve a natural aesthetic, and one that is relevant to the location of the event. Local and seasonal product helps tell a full narrative of the event's time and place, in addition to being environmentally friendly.

Weddings of Note: With gratitude, our events take us all over the world, but our lips are sealed!

The Look: We install florals globally, with a nod to the English country garden idyl; the designs are always authentic and timeless, with a devout focus on sustainability.

The Approach: I now only create the flowers for a handful of clients each year; it has got to be the right fit for both me and the couple. I look after each client personally and take time to really understand what they are looking for. I then use the surrounding landscape and architectural details to curate the designs, so that the flowers work seamlessly within their setting(s).

Expert Advice: When you are planning your day, surround yourself with suppliers and designers who you instantly click with, the ones who make you feel safe. This will help you enjoy every step of the process and ensure your wedding is a direct reflection of both you and your partner.

Weddings of Note: Most of our weddings are under wraps, but our most recognized, public floral designs were for the wedding of Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The Look: Our bright and unusual color combinations make each one of our pieces unique. We specialize in the fleeting beauty that working with local flowers brings to each event. Letting our materials do their thing is an important part of our design process.

The Approach: We love learning about our couple's style, then embarking on a floral journey together to create a look that speaks to the time of year, location, and vibe of their event. The most beautiful and memorable events have come together with the creative freedom to select materials that may not be found on an inspiration board.

Expert Advice: We can help couples reduce negative environmental impacts by working with seasonal materials from local flower farms and eliminating the use of floral foam in designs. Instead of working with a theme or specific color, clients can choose to emphasize a special local bloom that becomes a memorable signature for their event.

The Look: Our aesthetic has developed and varied over the years as we've explored new materials and approaches to floral design. Right now, I'm pushing for an aesthetic that is simpler, less about my vision for what could be, and more about the flowers as they are. There is something heartbreakingly beautiful about fritillaria in the spring, for example. Subtle and delicate, it forces you to pay attention to it.

The Approach: For our wedding clients, it's important that we feel a connection to the couple, the family, and their story. It's important that we both not only like each other, but that we trust each other. We want to feel as excited as our clients, because that is when we do our best work and come up with our best ideas. Weddings should be fun, and the process of putting a design together should be fun. We want you to be able to put all your energy towards being excited rather than stressed.

Expert Advice: Keep your expectations realistic, allow space for adjustments (even day of), and don't put pressure on one thing to decide how you feel about the whole thing. I've known brides to declare their entire wedding ruined because of something that they decided to obsess over not turning out how they imagined. Just breathe and accept that whatever is going to happen will happen; at the end of the day, it's about you and your person.
