The Rivers of Mars
Recent studies of data returned by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter add to the evidence that water flowed freely and persistently during the early days of the Red Planet. Clays formed in those days might be places to look for evidence of past life. In this image of an ancient channel and delta in Jezero Crater, clay minerals are indicated by the color green.
