Looking north toward Tucson (the citylights) from Arivaca.
If you imagine a line 433 light years long through the star in the middle (Polaris), this would be an extension of the earth's axis, an imaginary line through the middle of the earth about which it rotates. if you were at the north pole, Polaris would be straight overhead.
this was about a 45 minute shot. the camera was an icecube by the end of it. chilly desert night.
