Maps by Andy Proehl

This is a collection of maps that I've created.

They tend to range from being somewhat traditional in appearance and more modern, artistic explorations. There are many things I find engaging about maps but the core themes that keep me interested are,
-- the subjective and editorial nature of maps as a medium that documents supposedly objective facts about the world around us.
-- the role of typography in communicating the spirit of place.
-- the politics and history of place.
