ADA Infrastructure Program
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its hiring or employment practices; in providing equal access to its programs, services and activities; or in its treatment of individuals.
One of the California Department of Transportation's (Caltrans) goals is System Performance: "Utilize leadership, collaboration and strategic partnerships to develop an integrated transportation system that provides reliable and accessible mobility for travelers.“ In support of this goal, Caltrans created the ADA Infrastructure Program.
The objective of the ADA Infrastructure Program is to ensure that Caltrans' facilities and services are made accessible to persons with disabilities

Caltrans ensures that no person with disabilities in the state of California is excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or otherwise subjected to discrimination in Caltrans programs, policies, activities, and services. Caltrans is committed to working with its partners to identify and address issues with pedestrian accessibility in its infrastructure.
In accordance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, Caltrans has designated a Statewide ADA Coordinator who is responsible to coordinate ADA compliance across the State.
