Participant data is collected by the organizer when the participant, or authorized agent of a company purchasing the ticket on behalf of the participant, completes the purchase of a ticket for Devoxx Belgium. This data is stored securely by the organizer of Devoxx Belgium and is used to send updates about Devoxx Belgium to the participant and purchaser of tickets via email. Emails providing general updates to participants about Devoxx Belgium include links allowing participants to change their mailing preferences and unsubscribe from future update communications.
Participants will be provided a badge when they enter the Devoxx Belgium conference. This badge acts as their means of entry into the venue and session rooms. For security reasons, participants must retain the badge at all times during their visit to the conference, and may be requested by onsite staff to show this. Failure to present a valid badge may result in ejection from the venue. The badge will contain the participant’s name, company name, and QR code. The QR Code contains a unique user identification number, name, company, and email address. The participant agrees that by allowing any of the Devoxx Belgium sponsors to scan the QR Code on their badge, their details can be shared with that specific sponsor, and the participant is opting in to receiving further communication from that sponsor. Attendees will be able to allow other attendees to scan their badge should they choose, with the scanning attendee then being able to see the information contained in the QR code.
Participants further understand that photos and movies may be taken during Devoxx Belgium which may include them. These photos and videos may be used on the Devoxx Belgium website, Voxxed website, and other related websites, social media, streaming websites (YouTube), and related publications. Participants agree that their image and voice may be included in such videos, movies, and recordings.
In addition to the main activities and sessions, Devoxx Belgium 2024 will conduct an analysis of wireless network usage by connected devices during the conference. This data will be used to optimize the performance of our Wi-Fi infrastructure and to better understand attendee engagement. All data will be anonymized and aggregated to protect the privacy of individual attendees. By connecting to the Devoxx Belgium wireless network, participants agree to have their usage data included in this analysis. Please note that this is solely for the purpose of improving the event experience and ensuring a robust network environment for all attendees.
