The heartbroken family of a 29-year-old woman who was left to die in her friends bed while he posted about missing his ex-girlfriend are campaigning to make failing to dial 999 a crime.  Kimberley McAssey was found 'cold' and unresponsive in the bed of Ryan Sheridan at his home in Prestwich, Greater Manchester, on February 20, 2021.  The pair had drank alcohol and taken MDMA together before moving to the bedroom to have sex - an activity Ms McAssey would have been 'virtually unresponsive' by the end of, an inquest heard.

The 53-year-old victim, who gave her name as Anne, shelled out 830,000 euros (£697,000) to help with what she believed was cancer treatment for the film star. The interior designer told French channel TF1  that the ordeal started when she received a message on social media from someone claiming to be the actor's mother after sharing photos of her lavish ski trip to Tignes on Instagram.

After two spectacular seasons, it appears The Traitors' sheen may be wearing off. Casting that, some believe, the BBC have produced the 'worst season' of The Traitors yet.

On a July morning in 2022, Kiena Dawes drove to her friend's house and let herself in. She was carrying her nine-month-old daughter in a car seat, which she carefully placed on the floor alongside her mobile phone. Then the 23-year-old got back in her car and drove off alone. An hour and a half later, Kiena was dead, having lain down on the West Coast Main Line in front of a train travelling at 110mph. In the intervening time, the alarm had been raised by her friend who, after finishing a shower, came downstairs to find the baby and the phone - on which Kiena had written a suicide note. 'No, no, no', she could be heard wailing in despair as she rushed outside to try to find Kiena.

A brain surgeon has been hailed a hero after he saved his entire Malibu street from being ravaged by LA's wildfires by holding the raging flames at bay for five nights. Chester Griffiths, 62, had just finished performing brain surgery when he dashed to his car and drove across Los Angeles to save his beachfront home from being engulfed in fire. In a scene reminiscent of a Hollywood blockbuster, he joined forces with two other neighbors to fight tooth and nail to save their homes after having briefed his son and others on his street on his plan of action. When the inferno swept through their sunny cul-de-sac, reducing surrounding homes to ash and rubble, the trio leapt into action. Over the next five harrowing days and nights, they managed to defend six houses from the raging blaze, even as hurricane-force winds hurled flaming embers the size of footballs through the air. 'At one point I started packing up my car and then I just decided I'm just not gonna let my house burn down, no matter what', Clayton Colbert, Griffiths's neighbor, told The Telegraph . Armed with fire hoses, spades, and N95 masks, the three men held the fire at bay in what many would call a miraculous feat of determination.The stakes couldn't have been higher.

A plane passenger became embroiled in a bizarre row with a fellow Wizz Air customer when they demanded she stop recording herself.  Paris Johnson was jetting back to London after a getaway in Hungary when she awoke 15 minutes before landing, quickly whipping out her phone to check her hair.  But as the 18-year-old gently combed through her hair, a woman who was not visible in the video told ordered her to stop recorded because she was 'too famous'.

Eve McCarthy, a physiology pupil at University College Dublin, died after falling about 500ft from the infamous Caminito del Rey pathway, close to the village of El Chorro in Malaga. Her body was recovered by emergency services after the alarm was raised just after 7pm on Friday. Her male companion survived by grabbing onto a bush-covered rock which was jutting out as he fell alongside his friend. He was said to be in a state of shock when rescued. The survivor is understood to have told police the pair lost their balance and went over the side of a ravine.

Playing Nice viewers were left baffled after an 'infuriating' ending featuring 'massive plot holes and no closure', with some demanding 'answers' in the minutes after it aired. Grandmother Sue Wheatley was rinsing out a tin of crab meat at the kitchen sink after lunch when she cut her finger on the sharp lid. The wound was only about a centimetre long, so she put a plaster on - and didn't think much more about it.But within two weeks, this innocuous wound left her in a ten-day coma, fighting for her life.

A sequel video has revealed another embarrassing blow for the unidentified 'Karen' who was body-slammed onto an icy road during a violent road rage incident on January 4 in Toledo, Ohio. It is unclear what sparked the brutal interaction and if anyone suffered injuries as a result.
