June brings the sweet early days of summer. School’s out, but it’s not too hot (we’re looking at you July). It’s our favorite time of year to head to the lake or kick back on the screened-in porch with a mason jar of iced tea, which is fitting because June 10 is National Iced Tea Day. What other June holidays are there?
Of course, the main holidays in June are Father's Day on the third Sunday (the 16th this year) and the federal holiday Juneteenth (the 19th). But every single day of the month is one to commemorate, from fun observances (bring on Leave the Office Early Day on June 3) to dates of historical significance (June 6 marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day in 2024).
Quite a few of June’s special days are food-related, and since celebrations around the table are something we’re experts at Country Living, you’ll find lots of recipes ideas too. (When it comes to National Cheese Day on June 4, consider that we put cheese in everything from apple pie to chicken noodle soup, so, yeah, we’ve got you.)
This list also includes daily, weekly, and monthly awareness topics that we shine a light on in June. Scroll on and mark your calendar for those that are meaningful to you and yours.
