Almost a thousand feet above Manhattan’s green expanse of 843 acres sits 220 Central Park South.
A silver-shadowed limestone high-rise building that redefines opulence for its residents through amenities like an on-site spa, 82-foot saltwater pool, and residents-only restaurant operated by celebrity chef, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Central Park South provides tenfold access to upscale living—and panoramic views—for those who inhabit it.
Building upon the grandeur of Central Park, this property’s interiors needed to parallel that of the architected beauty that sits just beyond its walls. To strike this balance, Robert A.M. Stern Architects and The Office of Thierry W. Despont, worked with Robern to design custom products for bathrooms and communal spaces to elevate the home through precision, and entirely unique product selections.
The space, a four-story, 23,000-square-foot penthouse has a stature that speaks for itself. Drawing inspiration from the rich heritage of historic New York residences, with traditional materials and prominent moldings, each space within the penthouse was uniquely form-fitted to meet dwellers’ definitions of lavishness.
By working closely with the architect, designer, and developer spearheading the renovation, Robern created a collection of custom products for primary and secondary bathrooms, powder rooms, and common areas, all designed to create a retreat from the bustling world, and a space for reflection and renewal. Among these one-of-a-kind fixtures and furnishings were custom cabinets, tunable lighted mirrors, lighting grid ceilings, framed shower doors, linen closets, and vanities—all crafted and configured to complement each curve of the space.
With interiors that rival the magnitude of the building’s exterior, the residences at Central Park South are personal sanctuaries of escape from the bustling city.
