I may end up with a new blog/facebook/etsy - so please check back! My word for 2014? ADVENTURE! I will start 2014 in a big way! Headed to Sydney, Australia for a month in February (for work) but will have time for some fun! Can't wait. Time Goes By!
Wow - over a month since posting! I've been really busy at my (fairly new) job. I love it - very challenging. I've never worked for such a large corporation but it suits me fine, and I get to stay in my small little mountain town. So - my creative time has shrunk a bit - I have lots of ideas for projects so check back~ Lately, I have become obsessed with these adorable little figures from Robin Ridener at Baggaraggs! Aren't they just great? I bought these two, and I know I will soon add to the collection! Hope you all have a great Easter ~ It's going to be a warm, gorgeous day here tomorrow!

Warner Bros Costumes
A few months ago the owner of the antique store where I used to work went to an auction where she purchased a 'lot' of costumes from Warner Bros.! Oh...my...goodness! There were so many shirts, petticoats, bodices, pantaloons, aprons, etc. I couldn't make up my mind on what to purchase! Most of the items looked to be from old 'westerns' and judging by the sizes (which were very, very tiny) I'm thinking they are very old! My pictures do not do them justice. I am dazzled by all the lace, trims and muslin. What a treasure! The waists are so small they don't fit on my size 8 mannequin!

Valentine Project!
I love Valentine's Day, and I especially love creating hearts! However, I seem to have started a bit late this year! I went to the local thrift store and found some wonderful white quilted pillow covers - king size - 2 for $3.50! Brought them home with a heart project in mind! Dyed one of them in the sink - a lovely shade of 'shabby', faded, red! Cut it into heart shapes, added a little vintage ribbon rosette I had, and here you go~
Found this 'embroidered' piece of fabric... lots of possibilities! |
