Hugo Pfoertner: We don't have an established procedure for this. But I can remember having even seen the more detailed explanation "if (the sequence is) interpreted as a constant". A reasonable convention would be to use the omission of indexing when referring to "cons" sequences as an indication that the entire content is to be interpreted as a single number.
