Joost Agterhoek (1988, Netherlands) worked as technology and policy advisor at NLnet. He helped to select and supports research projects that receive funding from NLnet while keeping in touch with stakeholders, contacts in the field and (digital) society at large. He was primarily involved with NGI Zero Discovery and NGI Zero PET, part of the Next Generation Internet initiative.
Joost has a background in business journalism and studied sociology at the University of Amsterdam. For Internet Society Netherlands he researched how organizations implement the General Data Protection Regulation and wrote about privacy issues concerning the Dutch Intelligence and Security Services Act and the GDPR.
