Shale for scale

I know people have been going to great lengths to get the Emerson. My friend Shale who lives in Toronto had it sent to her buddy in DC. Then she rented a PT Cruiser and drove it home! I was curious how big the box was even though I'd read the dimensions. Her lovely daughter took this picture of her in her home. I commented. "Wow, Susan, you house looks really classy!" and she replied, "That's because I hid all the dollhouses..." She was having out of town guests and needed the room.
I think it is hard for people in Europe and Australia to get these. Will there be an overseas supplier soon? C

This is a picture of my bathroom remodel and why I may seem out of it for a while!
AND I seem to have lost my cookies on my computer and have to blog through flickr. I also only have this blog listed on flickr and don't know how to add the other one GRRRR
as soon as I published this http://leftcoastmini.blogspot.com/ started uploading when I checked on it and now this one won't do the Tynietoy information I just learned and I wanted to share!!!!!
 Break time!  More coffee is needed, and it looks like it is going to be 100 degrees again today!!!!! C

My bookcase.

Susan described it as an "Early Tynietoy bookcase. This is an unmarked early example with only three shelves of paper books rather than the customary four, and there is a flat cornice just above the top shelf not seen on later examples. Also, there never was a finial at the top, and the doors are painted with faux raised panels. An unusual item among Tynietoy pieces." from Susan Grimshaw at TynieTown.com. Compare it to the larger one in the post below. I am so glad to know the difference! I thought it's finial was just broken off!  Thank you Susan Grimshaw! C

Just e chatted with Pubdoll who mentioned the meet up of modern mini people. She suggested Kensington, England as a site. Paris is good too. What about the Australian contingent? What do they think would be a possible place?  Hawaii?

Speaking of Australia I am excitedly waiting for the items from the Call of the Small exhibit curated by Ann Marie the Shopping Sherpa who I just chatted with and she votes for Australia! C

Update: I seldom mix in other accessories with Tynietoy because very few things are good enough to match it. Please notice the plant stand and waste basket made by that Canadian world traveller and budding artisan, Susan Hale, fashioned from an antique fan she purchased in a Napa Valley thrift store. I haven't shown you what I blew my budget on but let's just say that is another story... C

The bedroom: Homage to snailbooty

Regarding that stain on the ceiling.

Mr. Rubber felt someone behind him. "Hon, where was that knife shop you recommended the other day" Mrs. Rubber asked.

The itsy bitsy spider

This is a corner of my entry hall. No, it is not a decoration for Halloween. It's real. And what is that white blob in the left foreground of the spider web?.... a styrafoam pnut from a shipping box. Is this when you know you've ordered too much from ebay...? C

The new baby

Ever seen the painting "The Scream" by Edvard Munch?

What is this baby thinking and why is it naked??? Is it a boy? C

Brother

Poor brother has a scar on his forehead. He is dirty too. Why is he always in the bathroom?

Is this the face of a future serial killer? Eek, eek, eek, eek! I was going to say I really like the graphics in the bathroom, and THEN I noticed the bath tub ring! C

The Daughter

La la la la la, what a happy room. Notice the picture of "The little old lady who lived in the shoe" on the wall. Have you EVER heard a more violent nursery rhyme?????

I think she was dropped on her head as a baby.

Remember "Dumbo" the movie by Walt Disney came out in 1941. How about that mother child scene. Nightmare city! Scared wittless? C

The interior: Great lithos, lower floor

Lets go in the back door to the kitchen. Whoa don't let the floor make you dizzy. Golly gee willikers! Love those ruffled curtains. Looks like a pot of sphagetti sauce exploded on the ceiling in the corner. I better place the stove there. I like how the pen and ink  illustrations are cartoon like.

Next let's move to the diningroom. I opened the walls to take the picture. The kitchen floor does not show. The china hutch ends at the wainscoting... The frame on the picture is so 1940's. They used about 5 colors of ink. Brown, black, yellow, scarlet and green.

Livingroom. Those curtains are too much!!! Love the shilouttes!

It was interesting taking this picture as natural light came in every fold of the cardboard. Classic mantle and representational picture over it. The gray carpet is also so '40's! These are definitely "drapes". Love that word. C

Happy October meet the Mom

Zombie much!This is the rubber Mother doll who goes with this house.

"I must bake a cake, I must bake a cake, I must bake a cake..."

I am so glad this house was identified as Game Makers Company. I use little Strombecker furniture with this house. It seems to suit the inhabitants.

Then I found this on ebay. Item #  370438613234. Is somebody reading over our shoulders? It identifies the dolls as the Konigseer Puppen Family made in GDR.
