Ballerina's and Baubles

Hi! Just wanted to show you what I've been working on. It's a beautiful ballerina ornament. She is made on beveled glass, and is sprinkled with just a bit of glitter.
I've always loved dance, and especially ballet. My lovely sister and nieces are amazing dancers. :)
I changed things a bit and tied the ribbon with the bow on the bottom. I think it's prettier that way.
I'm not a huge "color" girl, and prefer muted shades, but I added a bit of greens, and blues and even orange to the flowers. I think it's killer looking. I just love the way it turned out. ;)
Here's a load of old enamel watch faces I was fortunate enough to pick up in Ventura a few years back. My plan was to cut circles out of glass and encase them. That took too long and is harder than you think to cut circles (or at least it is for me) so I ended up adding a sterling post to the back and...
Bingo! Beautiful charms to add to a bracelet or necklace. I'll be bringing some to Palm Springs tonight, along with more new ornaments. Hope you have an amazing day. Take care, Martha

May Day Petit Bouquet

Happy May Day to you!  I thought I'd share a few images of the new project I'm working on. They are tiny charms (1/2"x1/2") filled with vintage images of birds, butterflies and flowers.
This butterfly charm says "Inspire" on the back.  The yellow background comes from an old time card.
A pretty little poppy with "fleur" on the back.
For those of you who live in the San Diego area, I'll be at the Carlsbad Faire on Sunday May 4th.  It is the biggest craft show I've ever been to.  Downtown Carlsbad is filled to the brim with booths.  I'll be across from the live theatre on State St.  Be sure to come by and see me, because I love chatting with my bogging friends.  Have a wonderful, joyous, flower filled May Day!

Love,
Martha

Sweet Sparkling Treat

Hi there!  Look what I got in the mail yesterday. It's a beautifully customized gift box from my friend Rosemary.  It's for my sweet niece Amber's birthday and she's going to love it.  She's an amazing dancer, and I remembered Rosemary makes gift boxes with little vintage ballerina's dancing on them that I just had to have. This box is encrusted with glittery sparkles that look so pretty and I tucked a initial "A" charm that I make inside the box.  I think our little creations compliment each other very well. Thanks so much for making this for me Rosemary!  I'll be back for more.
Take care, Martha

Little little Mermaids

Little mermaids have been swimming around my head lately.  My charms seem to be shrinking (as well as my brain, but that's for another blog). I started out making large soldered ornaments about 2x3 inches, but they have progressively become tinier and tinier.  I like the fact that you can wear them on a charm bracelet or necklace.  You can also layer them, and they aren't too heavy.
I've also been working on glitterizing some of their tails.  I was inspired by all the cool mermaids I saw on your beautiful blogs and decided to get out the glitter.  Just a sprinkling of glitter really makes the design sparkle.   I'll have these on my website soon.  :)  Enjoy your friday!
