The Dimholt was a forest situated at the base of the Dwimorberg mountain, past Dunharrow in southern Rohan.
Description[]
The Dimholt was a forest of pine and fir. Through it an ancient road ran, leading to a glen where a standing stone was placed before the Dark Door. It signified the entrance to the Paths of the Dead.[1]
The path led under Dwimorberg, and was haunted by the spirits of Men of the mountain of the Third Age. Even Legolas, a woodland Elf, could not have endured long under the trees.[2]
Etymology[]
Dimholt is a Rohanese word translating approximately to "secret wood".
