The Final Journey (最後の旅路), Saigo no Tabiji) is the 83rd chapter of the Kekkaishi Manga written and illustrated by Yellow Tanabe.
Summary[]
Shion reports the successful murder of Heisuke Matsudo to Byaku.
In a flashback, Kagami warns Matsudo that there are intruders in his home. Shion's Spider Goons are prevented from going any farther into the house by talismans, but they pose no problem for Shion, who melts them with her presence. Matsuo's Ayakashi servants are quickly destroyed. Kagami is prepared to fight, but Matsudo says he already has things prepared. The spider goons are destroyed by other talisman hidden in the walls. Shion confronts Matsudo, and he lures her into a Kekkai trap. Shion claims it is no threat to her, so Matsudo plans to shoot her with a gun and bullets that have powerful charms applied to them. Shion uses a spider to gain control of his body, forcing him to shoot himself in the head.
Shion inwardly notes that Matsudo's body felt odd to her, but decides not to mention this.
Shigemori Sumimura and Shuji prepare to leave home. Shuji leaves some meals prepared and emergency money for the boys. Shigemori is strangely silent and moody.
Matsudo is revealed to be alive, having used a human skin disguise he created on one of his Ayakashi servants. In addition, Masamori Sumimura helped him plan a fake funeral. Matsudo promises various body parts to his fallen Ayakashi, and the remainder of his body and soul to Kagami. Together, they begin their final journey.
