Gen Shihio (志々尾限, Shishio Gen) is the 49th chapter of the Kekkaishi Manga written and illustrated by Yellow Tanabe.
Summary[]
As Yoshimori examines the claw marks left in the wall, Tokine runs up and is shocked. As they begin to repair the wall, Yoshimori explains that he felt an evil aura after his Shikigami was destroyed. He realizes that the culprit is deliberately provoking him, and races off to confront them. Yoshimori creates several bird Shikigami to track down the culprit.
Yoshimori finds a group of high school boys that have been beaten up. They tell him that the new transfer student is responsible, and that he moved too fast for their eyes to follow. The new student grabs Tatsumi Mino by the throat and demands to know who he is. He is able to smell that Tatsumi has a supernatural power. Tatsumi introduces himself, and one of the Shikigami spots them. By the time Yoshimori arrives, the student is gone. Tatsumi confirms that it was the new transfer student, and Yoshimori suddenly senses another of his Shikigami being destroyed. He runs to the scene and finds the student on a nearby roof, holding two Shikigami. The student destroys the Shikigami and leaps away. Yoshimori follows using Kekkai as mid-air stepping stones, and is spotted by Tokine, who follows as well (though she takes the stairs, not wanting to be spotted using her powers by other students).
The student leads Yoshimori up to another rooftop and suddenly attacks. Yoshimori avoids the first blow, but is quickly overwhelmed by swift hand-to-hand techniques. Yoshimori tries to trap the student within a Kekkai, but is shocked when the student's hand transforms into a large wolf-like claw and easily rips through the Kekkai. Tokine senses the evil aura and rushes to roof just as the Kekkai is destroyed. The student calls both Yoshimori and the Kekkai weak for a Legitimate Successor, and reveals that he is Gen Shishio of the Night Troop, assigned to assist Karasumori's Kekkaishi.
