Claw Marks (爪跡, Tsumeato) is the 48th chapter of the Kekkaishi Manga written and illustrated by Yellow Tanabe.

Summary

Yoshimori and Tokine visit Tatsumi Mino at school. They warn him that Ayakashi may infiltrate the school in human form, and ask him to notify them if he sees anything suspicious. Mino agrees, but seems largely unconcerned and reintroduces his snakes, who have apparently grown due to Karasumori's power, and are now capable of speech.

Afterward in the hallway, Yoshimori mentions that he gave the discarded arm from The Spy's human disguise to his grandfather, who said he would take it to an expert. Tokine notices how much Yoshimori has grown.

Yoshimori falls asleep in class, so his classmates tease him. Yurina Kanda is convinced to go to the classroom next door by her friends Ayano and Kyoko, so they can see the new transfer student, who is supposed to be a cute guy. They pass the student without realizing it, and Yurina is startled when she smells blood. Yurina is concerned enough that she decides to notify Yoshimori. She drags him to the roof to tell him, but Yoshimori only says he'll talk to her later, leaving Yurina wondering if he's tired. On his way back inside, the new student grabs Yoshimori and drags him outside. Yoshimori says the same thing he told Yurina, and the new student punches him in the face, revealing it to be a Shikigami. Yoshimori senses the Shikigami's destruction and is alarmed, since it was stronger than usual. The new student's hand turns into a claw, and Yoshimori senses an evil aura. He rushes to the spot, only to find a huge slash mark in the wall.
