We have been at CVF for 33 years on May 31st.
There have been lots of different horses.
But Jack is the best.

In 1998 we traveled to the Bay of Fundy with the RBG.

We ended up in a blind on Michias Seal Island photographing Puffins.

I am thinking of  building a blind at CVF.

Anybody want to help?

Looks like a honey of a year

Last week Dorothy was in Venice.
This week she's back on the farm with her bees.

Flashback: Laddie turns 10 today.

Laddie was born 10 years ago today at CVF.
He is a big strong part of our team.

Flashback: Jack turns 7 today

Duck in the hay field

Last year we had a Mallard Duck nesting in our bonfire pile.
This year there's a duck in the hayfield.
Not really good choices.

Kim visits the horses at CVF

George brought his daughter Kim out to the farm.

The wood ducks are hatching.

Everybody likes sitting on the seat.

Now this looks like a fun event.

Flashback: When the garden was huge

Many year ago we had a garden about 5 times as big.

Then we could work the land with the team.

Here is Ross disking with Connie & Tara.

But then we had lots of mouths to feed.

The big garden is planted.

Still lots of room for squash and pumpkins.

Steve helped cut the flag pole down.

Chris came up with a base for the old cultivator seat.

Great seat to sit & watch the garden grow.

Should chickens eat grass clippings?

Heidi thinks so.

And they sure do like them.

Tomatoes in the cold frame

We planted some of our tomato plants inside the cold frames.

This gives them an early start & protects them from frost and wind.

Maybe tomatoes by July 1st?

Cogburn is all cooped up.
