Our leadership
Evan is a passionate entrepreneur and technology leader with nearly 25 years of experience in the CEO role. Evan’s career spans from creating startups in his own garage to leading NASDAQ-listed companies generating nearly $200m in annual revenue. Prior to InfluxData, Evan served as Executive in Residence at Trinity Ventures, and President and CEO at iPass Corporation (the leader in Global Wi-Fi connectivity), and Founder, Chairman, and CEO at Aventail Corporation (the pioneer of SSLVPN’s, now part of the Dell Corporation).
Paul is the creator of InfluxDB. He has helped build software for startups, large companies and organizations like Microsoft, Google, McAfee, Thomson Reuters, and Air Force Space Command. He is the series editor for Addison Wesley’s Data & Analytics book and video series. In 2010 Paul wrote the book Service Oriented Design with Ruby and Rails for Addison Wesley’s. In 2009 he started the NYC Machine Learning Meetup, which now has over 7,000 members. Paul holds a degree in computer science from Columbia University.
Winnie is a veteran financial executive with over twenty years of strategic and operational financial management experience at both public and privately held companies. Before InfluxData, Winnie served as VP of Finance at iPass, Corporate Controller at Merriman Capital, divisional Head of FP&A at VeriSign, and finance leader at Chemdex where she played a key role in the company’s highly successful IPO and convertible notes offering. Winnie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and an MBA from San Francisco State University. Winnie also received the CPA certification (currently inactive).
Arwa has nearly two decades of experience in cloud go-to-market strategies and scaling startups and large enterprises with triple-digit growth. At InfluxData, she oversees all global sales activities, including sales enablement, customer success, and technical support and services. Prior to InfluxData, Arwa was VP of Worldwide Sales & Go-to-Market at HPE Greenlake Cloud Services, and before that led Azure Cloud App Dev Go-to-Market at Microsoft.
Jeremy Freeland is the Chief Legal Officer of InfluxData. He has more than 25 years of experience working with early, mid and late stage technology companies focused on innovating and disrupting established industries. He has held inside and outside general counsel roles, with an emphasis on operationalizing the company’s legal function, compliance obligations and risk approach. Before joining InfluxData, he was Chief Legal Officer at Auth0.
Barbara leads the engineering team at InfluxData. She has extensive experience leading globally distributed teams in designing, developing, deploying and supporting products and services that are delivered on a cloud-based service platform and on a range of client platforms. Prior to InfluxData, Barbara had a variety of engineering and technical leadership roles, including VP Engineering at iPass, CTO at Cirrent, and Principal Architect at eBay. Barbara has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from University College Dublin, Ireland.
Gary Fowler is VP of Product at InfluxData. Gary has nearly three decades of experience in product management, program management, software engineering and sales engineering. He previously held Vice President roles in Product and Engineering at iPass, Airborne Interactive, and Lilee Systems. Gary resides in Holualoa, Hawaii.
