After making my static site with Bootstrap, which is on a previous repo, the steps to take to convert it to a Wordpress Theme are:
- Download latest Wordpress Files
- Download Underscores theme from Underscores.me - this is a basic skeleton of a theme.
- Put the Underscores theme files into the themes section of the Wordpress Files. (These Wordpress files have already been connected to my domain with 1&1.
- In the admin area of my Wordpress change the Theme to the Underscores.
- Then start modularising the sections of Index.html in the static site, to the php pages in Wordpress. You do this by deleting certain default sections and then putting in my HTML!
- Also updating the relative paths to assets to the <php ?> part...this is similar to: / infront of assets file path.
