This repository contains source files of keyboard layouts for typing Kurdish language.

• Shift is not needed for Central Kurdish letters
• Layout is based on common Persian keyboard layout
• All characters of Southern and Hewrami Kurdish, Persian, and Arabic languages can be typed without changing the language.

• Standard Central Kurdish alphabet: ئ ء ا ب پ ت ج چ ح خ د ر ڕ ز ژ س ش ع غ ف ڤ ق ک گ ل ڵ م ن و ۆ ه ە ی ێ
  • Note: Although the character "ھ ARABIC LETTER HEH DOACHASHMEE (U+06BE)" is the correct representation of Kurdish /h/ consonant, we use the "ه ARABIC LETTER HEH (U+0647)" character as the KRG Department of Information Technology's Standard shows.
• Other dialects of Kurdish:
  • Southern: ۊ [y] ݩ [ŋ]
  • Hewrami: ڎ ۉ
• Punctuation marks: / ؟ . ، ؛ : - " « » ( ) [ ] { } < >
• Math: Arabic digits (1234567890), Arabic-Indic digits (١٢٣٤٥٦٧٨٩٠), and ٫ ٬ % ÷ ×
• Persian/Arabic: letters آ أ إ ث ذ ص ض ط ظ ك ؤ ة ي ى and diacritics ــَـِـُـّـْ ـًـٍـٌ

Download, unzip, and run setup.exe file. In Windows 8, 10, and 11, Central Kurdish (Iran) layout will be automatically added to the Central Kurdish language of the system.

Download Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator (MSKLC) Version 1.4 and open the .klc file.
