I am a historian living in the Netherlands though I am originally from South Africa. Currently I am working as a museum curator.
My interests lie the field of history: specifically in the linkages between the Netherlands and Southern Africa from the colonial period to the 20th century. I have an especial interest in archives and museum collections. On Wikipedia I focus on articles related to the shared history of the Netherlands and South Africa and Dutch archival and museum collections on South Africa.
My native languages are Afrikaans and English. I am able to read Dutch at a native level, but I am not able to write in Dutch. Should you ever wish to translate any of my articles into Dutch, please go ahead and do so, as I am not able to do so myself. I can, however, translate Dutch into English, and have done so in the past for several academic institutions, so please don't hesitate to ask me for translation help. I also have a basic knowledge of French.
