"Another Lonely Christmas"

[edit]

I removed the word "ironically" from the sentence that said, "He only performed "Another Lonely Christmas" live one time, ironically on Boxing Day, December 26, 1984, at the St. Paul Civic Center in Minnesota."

While it might seem ironic to perform a Christmas-themed song after Christmas, the first line of the song is "Last night, I spent another lonely Christmas". Hence, when Prince sang the song on December 26, "last night" at the time was indeed Christmas. (I also removed the reference to Boxing Day, which is not a recognized holiday in the U.S.) --Metropolitan90 (talk) 15:25, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

"Written for film"

[edit]

If we have recordings of soundchecks from '82 where Prince plays the song, does that disqualify this article from the "written for film" category tag? I might not be totally in the know regarding the semantics of "song" as used here, but usually a song's article includes the covers as well, so I'd figure a slightly differently arraged version from the actual artist counts as the same song. 84.0.11.10 (talk) 13:48, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"I'm not a woman, I'm not a man/ I am something that you'll never understand."

[edit]

This line is, as the song, is important to LGTBQ+ folk. This and Prince's name change to a dual feminine/masculine conjoined symbol. MTV, The Atlantic, Out mag, Vox, PinkNews... there are enough sources so why isn't this covered? If nothing is done I'll WP:Be Bold 174.85.1.23 (talk) 11:14, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
