Frederick von Frankenstein is a member of a long line of scientists. Frankenstein's stress leads him to use his uncle Hal's Phase-Shifter to gain self-duplication abilities. However, his clones deprive him of sleep, driving him insane. He then becomes a criminal and enemy of Superman.[2]
Later, Riot accepts Morgan Edge's offer to join the Superman Revenge Squad alongside Maxima, Misa, Barrage, and Anomaly.[3][4] However, the Squad disbands when they realize that Edge will not fulfill the promises he made to them.[5][6][7]
Riot appears alongside Roxy Rocket and Doctor Phosphorus as part of an event arranged by Roulette to see who could defeat Batman. Batman, Robin, and Batgirl defeat all of the villains, rendering the bet void.[8]
