Jed hears about movie stars living there. He mentions Hoot Gibson. The executive tells Jed that he is afraid that Mr. Gibson has died. Jed says "oh, shucks, that's right -- he got shot at the end of that movie!" The quotation actually mentions Tom Mix, not Hoot Gibson.
