Should we have an article about.....?

Muriel Cigars?.... I just saw an ad for them on a you tube video about 50s television ads. They seem to have been well known in the United states back then. What do you all think? Hello Brands

edit

Hi, I have come from WP:CAR where there is a discussion happening for the nth time about the word marque, which is often used in Britain and other parts of the world, but not used in North America.

I make the point that marque and brand are not synonyms. Marques are brands, but not vice-versa. I claimed a marque is the branding of a legal entity that makes a product, but not branding of a product itself.

This is relevant to improving articles where editors mistake names of products and manufacturers.

Does anybody have any thoughts? Rally Wonk (talk) 16:11, 6 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Brand/marque: the manufacturer or the brand that the manufacturer uses (e.g. BMW or Holden)

Model (or product as you’re calling it): the car itself (e.g. BMW 5 Series or Holden Commodore)

I struggle to understand what the actual issue is you’re bringing up as these seem quite simple definitions. Adriazeri (talk) 17:39, 6 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
