Hey everyone, here is a really quick and simple project that anyone can do in just a matter of about 5 or 10 minutes (plus drying time). I made this pretty aqua vase from a mason jar I already had, and I love how it turned out!

It’s not your traditional mason jar and that’s why I love it. And of course the white tulips make it even prettier. :) I was inspired by The Colorful Living Project’s spray painted bottles when I pinned them on Pinterest, and thought they were so pretty. So I was off to find something similar I could spray paint, and we are nothing short of mason jars around our house, so that’s what got blasted with the Krylon can. :) And again, this was so ridiculously easy, and spray paint continues to amaze me. Here is the color I used (Krylon Catalina Mist), and my mason jar with 1 light coat of paint. It’s such a pretty shade of aqua and it’s the same color I used on my old drawer turned candle holder project. After you spray a few coats on you’ll get this…
And then this.

So simple and prettier than the clear mason jar. And everyone has to have at least a little something aqua out for spring and summer right? :)
So what have you spray painted lately? I can’t believe I haven’t done this sooner!
I’ll be linking this project up today at Sherri’s, Katie’s, Cassie’s and Erin’s sites for their Pinterest Challenge, the Winter Edition (although this is a total springy project). :)
So if you’ve actually done a project that you pinned, go on and link it up over there too! Also linking to Weekend Wrap Up Party, Sarahs’ Spray Paint Party and Kate’s Spring Fling Party.
xxoo,

Emily,
You’ve made a classic even more beautiful! In Canada I can only find the colour Catalina Mist at Michaels (which translates into it being twice the price!) but it looks GORGEOUS so I think I’ll be using my 40% off coupon on this the next time I’m in there. Thanks for sharing your Pinterest Challenge project! I posted one on my blog today and will be linking up, too.
All the best,
Claire @ alittlesomethinginthemeantime.blogspot.com
LOVE this Emily! Such a beautiful spring color and I love it with those tulips. I am going to pin it right now. Also, I featured “underwater” on my blog today from your boys room makeover. It’s such a fun room – still love those yellow lamp shades too. AND I don’t know if I ever congratulated you on your new little addition but I am so excited for you. Congratulations, officially! :) Have a great day Emily!
It’s so pretty!

Just popped over from the Young House Love Pinterest Challenge. LOVE this look. I never thought it would be so simple to get a great Ball jar vase. Thanks for posting this :)
This looks fantastic! Love how matte and soft it looks – perfect colour.
This is so pretty! Love the color and the flowers! I need to do this immediately.
This screams spring time! I’m itching for rubber boots and umbrellas now! Great job. Absolutely beautiful.
Gorgeous! Love the color too~so fresh and springy!
Oh, this is so lovely. I just can’t get enough of that color. Hosting Easter. . may need a table full of these with white flowers. Thanks, hot mama.
This is so pretty! I’ve totally pinned a similar project and can’t wait to try it! Thanks for linking up!
I absolutely LOVE your mason jar! It’s right up my alley. The color reminds me of my buffet that I recently painted!

That is a uniquely shaped mason jar! The color is perfect for spring! xo
Hmm…clever! This got me to thinking about spraying some gold or silver for the holidays. I know, I am way out of season, but ideas come when they come! Thanks for the idea. :-)

Hey, I’ve never thought of doing this before! Such a great idea! I’ll have to try it sometime. :)
So simple, yet so gorgeous. I love the way you’ve styled it in the top photo.
Hi! This may be an extremely weird request, but I have been looking everywhere for the target pillow you posted about in a post a very long time ago. It’s the target dwell studio pillow with yellow rosettes. I am willing to buy it from you. I know this is weird but it would match a room I am decorating perfectly! Name your price and I will give you the amount. I hope you can consider this and email me back. Thanks so much!

This turned out so sweet! I love the color you chose. I tried doing this with some glass bottles I had waiting to be recycled, but I used regular craft paint and rolled it around. It never looked right, so I guess spray paint is the answer! :)
That looks great! I’ve also seen vase painted on the inside, so they are still glassy and shiny on the outside. I wonder what the two would look like side by side?
I love the colour you used – yes, everybody needs a little aqua for spring (or any time!) I have some old glass bottles that I was planning to give away, but I think I’ll hold onto them and give them a spray of paint for spring :-) Thanks for the inspiration!
How pretty! I love that aqua color — it is so sweet! I haven’t done a project with spray paint yet (for some reason it sort of intimidates me!), but this may be the first one I tackle! :-) Thanks for sharing.
Super cute and so easy! Gotta love a Mason jar project. :-)
Thanks for linking up!
That looks super easy! I love the pretty blue with the bright white tulips and green leaves.
I LOVE Ball jars! This is super cute!
Oh my goodness this is awesome! I want to go find myself a jar tomorrow and spray it! Visiting from TT&J. Heading to read about your pinterest challenge…not familiar with that one? Thanks for sharing!
LOVE this …and I do hv cases of pints &quarts from the year Daddy planted 100 tomato plants …miss him terribly don’t miss canning till Christmas :'(
So simple. It kinda makes an ecological, economical, peaceful, yet creative statment all-by-it’s-ownself. That shade of aqua is a near perfect color from my perspective . . . your photos are great too. Thanks for the post.
Oh, wow! So simple but so gorgeous!! That’s it, I just have to get me some Krylon…I’ve seen so many beautiful uses for it. Thanks for sharing yours! I’d be sooo thrilled if you have a minute to share it here at my party, going on now:

LOVE love love this! Excited to see you’ll be at SNAP, too (if I haven’t already told you).
Thanks Kristen, SO looking forward to it! See you soon!
Love this look-so crisp and beautiful!
It looks so pretty Emily! I love the color!
I love this idea for old mason jars, especially those that aren’t as clear anymore when the glass looks cloudy anyway. This is the perfect way to give them new life.
The raised writing on the old jar really makes this project. A simple way to add a pop of color.
That is really beautiful. I have pinned this on my things I want to make board. Such a pretty color. Love it with the tulips.
This is amazing! I am in love with this color- so subtle yet so bright (does that make sense? haha) You should totally enter this project in Craftbaby’s ‘Upcycle It Challenge’! :) http://www.craftbaby.com/contests/3/upcycle-it-sweeps
Can you tell me where you found this mason jar or where you normally buy your mason jars from? Thanks!
Just wanted you to know I featured this on my blog today!
Love this project! Looks amazing. x Julie
I want to do this to some of mine! Love that color!

So pretty! I love the color you chose. I’m going to have to see if any of the stores near me carry that shade of blue.
So beautiful! I can’t wait to make this for my own little corner!
So clean and pretty. I love this jar for spring, and yes you do have to have something aqua out for spring!
LOVE this idea…it’s so cute and the color you chose if perfect from Spring. Just pinned it as a future project. Thanks for the inspiration!
What a beautiful project! I’ve got that same color spray paint at home…I think I’m going to have to try this out on the mason jars I already have. Thanks for sharing. Megan
I couldn’t find Catalina Mist but I found the color Aqua which looks close. We’ll see how it turns out after I do it today. Your blue tray underneath it looks really cute too.
LOVE this…just recreated myself yesterday, so easy and GORGeous!!

Thanks for the inspiration!!
Saw this on pinterest and tried this morning. How did you keep the paint from dripping down the jar? I don’t normally spray paint anything, did I maybe put it on too thick. Thanks!
So pretty! I’m going to check my stock of canning jars & see if I’ve got one that is screaming for an update. I’m going to go with a greener shade, and plan to fill it with daisy’s! (as soon as they bloom here in my yard)
I found twoBall jars at my Goodwill yesterday for 0.49 cents each! They will be getting a coat of spray paint today! Thanks for the fabulous idea…
So cute!
I’m going to try it today.

You can also use spray paint on glazed ceramic! I used this very color to redo a utensil canister to match my new kitchen color-scheme. It was a beige and red canister and I primed w/spray primer and then several light coats of catalina mist. It’s beautiful and saved me $!
What a great way to re-purpose mason jars. I love this!
Such an awesome (and easy) idea!
