DIY Aqua Painted Mason Jar

Hey everyone, here is a really quick and simple project that anyone can do in just a matter of about 5 or 10 minutes (plus drying time).  I made this pretty aqua vase from a mason jar I already had, and I love how it turned out!

It’s not your traditional mason jar and that’s why I love it. And of course the white tulips make it even prettier. :) I was inspired by The Colorful Living Project’s spray painted bottles when I pinned them on Pinterest, and thought they were so pretty.  So I was off to find something similar I could spray paint, and we are nothing short of mason jars around our house, so that’s what got blasted with the Krylon can. :) And again, this was so ridiculously easy, and spray paint continues to amaze me. Here is the color I used (Krylon Catalina Mist), and my mason jar with 1 light coat of paint. It’s such a pretty shade of aqua and it’s the same color I used on my old drawer turned candle holder project. After you spray a few coats on you’ll get this… And then this. Pin It

So simple and prettier than the clear mason jar. And everyone has to have at least a little something aqua out for spring and summer right? :)

    You’ve made a classic even more beautiful! In Canada I can only find the colour Catalina Mist at Michaels (which translates into it being twice the price!) but it looks GORGEOUS so I think I’ll be using my 40% off coupon on this the next time I’m in there.     This turned out so sweet! I love the color you chose. I tried doing this with some glass bottles I had waiting to be recycled, but I used regular craft paint and rolled it around. It never looked right, so I guess spray paint is the answer! :)

    That looks great! I’ve also seen vase painted on the inside, so they are still glassy and shiny on the outside. I wonder what the two would look like side by side?

    I love the colour you used – yes, everybody needs a little aqua for spring (or any time!) I have some old glass bottles that I was planning to give away, but I think I’ll hold onto them and give them a spray of paint for spring :-) Thanks for the inspiration!

    I love this idea for old mason jars, especially those that aren’t as clear anymore when the glass looks cloudy anyway. This is the perfect way to give them new life.

    I couldn’t find Catalina Mist but I found the color Aqua which looks close. We’ll see how it turns out after I do it today. Your blue tray underneath it looks really cute too.

    Saw this on pinterest and tried this morning. How did you keep the paint from dripping down the jar? I don’t normally spray paint anything, did I maybe put it on too thick. Thanks!

    So pretty! I’m going to check my stock of canning jars & see if I’ve got one that is screaming for an update. I’m going to go with a greener shade, and plan to fill it with daisy’s! (as soon as they bloom here in my yard)

    You can also use spray paint on glazed ceramic! I used this very color to redo a utensil canister to match my new kitchen color-scheme. It was a beige and red canister and I primed w/spray primer and then several light coats of catalina mist. It’s beautiful and saved me $!
