Putter turns five!

Hello! Today I have a layout to share of some photos I took with my Fuji Instax mini camera on Putter’s fifth birthday!

This is definitely the most masculine layout I have ever done, and it still has hearts and butterflies and bows! Haha! Masculine is hard. Oh my! I hope my attempt turned out okay! I had so much fun using the Studio Calico Who’s Who kit and finally scrapping some Instax photos!

Also, I cannot get a good full layout photo for the life of me! Anyone have any suggestions, especially for night time photos? It is really hard to get a good photo in my light box! Here is another version:

What do you think? Does the cropped version look better? I so appreciate your advice!

I absolutely adore this birch tree paper by Studio Calico and the camping map paper from October Afternoon, so I decided to cut along the lines of the trees and the map. I think it adds a fun feel!

I love these little KI Memories pockets! I hid my journaling in there along with another super cute American Crafts tag. My journaling says “On Putter’s 5th birthday we went for a long walk and took instax pictures in the park. Putter loves to pose, and we love him! Feb 26 2011”
I love that Putter will pose for photos for me, especially when I am using the Instax! It’s a one shot try!

I used Teeny Tiny Backdrops to fill in the bottom part of the layout. It was so easy to go up and across the page with this set. I can’t wait to use it for more layouts. It adds so much to have some hand stamping on layouts! Also, that photo on the left is my favorite one of the ones we took. Putter could totally be on America’s Next Top Model. Tyra would be proud. Hahahaha.

Thanks for coming by and saying hi! Hugs to you all! 🙂

  1. Putter is so cute! I wish my dog Penny would pose, she will look at you forever but as soon as you get out the camera she wants to turn her head! This is a lovely layout, wish I had photographing advice but I only make cards and I have trouble taking shots at night as well. I always have to adjust in Photoshop to get them looking right. But I actually think your pictures look great! 🙂

  2. oh my gosh! i love your layout! it's definately masculine! i think it fits perfectly!! i love all of the hidden surprise elements you have in there! i like the ls of the layout, but both versions are great!

  3. Wow Kelly Marie, you're really taking your scrapbooking to the next level! Such a great, sweet & fun LO!

Ps I'm glad you liked the card :D. Also I think Putter poses better than my kids do! 😉

  4. Putter is adorable and so are you! Your layout is perfectly masculine; the hearts, butterflies and bows are helping little Putter get in touch with his feminine side! There are so many wonderful elements to this fabulous page, you're getting me inspired to attempt another layout.
blessings and happy birthday to Putter.

  5. i like the cropped version! happy 5th bday putter! (he's the same age as one of our jack russells, bamboo!) ps – have your say cheese camera on my blog today. LOVE that stamp.

  6. Such a cute layout! I think the cropped version looks better, just because it looks brighter but if I would have only seen the uncropped version I would have thought it was great too! I think either way works. I can't photograph anything at night so you're definitely having more luck than me!

  7. That layout is adorable! The pics are just too sweet. I have the same problem with photographing layouts. I wish they'd make some kind of square framed camera setting almost like those instamatic pics the 70's. I just freaked myself out with how old I am. Yikes!

  8. Such a nice layout! Luv the colors, map background paper you used, and of course, the backgroud paper you stamped! Just luv the whole page, incld.Putter!! 🙂

  9. i like the uncropped version because we can see the wavy edge on the right. but the cropped one is nice to see the orientation of your page elements. i am loving the photos. i just scrapped my dog for the first time today so it was nice to see another furry friend LO. ;o)

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY PUTTER!

  10. Putter most definately can compete on Americas Top Models…what a poser he is!!! So cool to see someone who is as goofy as we are about their doggie…

  11. Sorry I don't have any photo tips for you Kelly! I still can't get my new digi camera to do what I want!! Not very techy here?!?!!

But I love your layouts about Putter! I'm a huge dog fan..have a Border Collie and he poses for me too!!

  12. Aw, sweet putter! What a cutie! I really love this layout! And I love how you used the camping papers as more of a "walk in the park" theme. It works perfectly. I love how you cut around the map, too.

Wish I could help you more with the photos, but I don't scrapbook, so I really have no advice. I know I can never get good pictures of my cards at night either. I always have to wait for daylight. It's frustrating. Hope someone else has some advice for you!

  13. Hi Kelly, congrats on your growing company!!! To go from four stamp sets to 36 is quite an achievement!!! Love your stamps – they stamp well, are soooo cute, and versatile!!!
Love the layout with Putter. 🙂
