Changing the profile quote (the colored box at the top of a large majority of articles) is something people can often debate about. For that reason, Avatar Wiki centralizes these changes on this page.

Procedures[]

  1. The proposer posts their suggestion(s) here. The proposer must support their suggestion(s) with a sensible reason for replacement ("it is an accurate representation of the character/his or her role in the series").
  2. The proposer must then apply the {{PQC}} template to the top of the article for which a change is being proposed.
  3. Discussion about the proposal can begin immediately. An administrator may, however, decide to retroactively reject the proposal if it is felt it does not meet the required standards.
  4. If a discussion ensues and:
    1. there is unanimous agreement among all commenters, then the quote can be replaced three days after the proposal was made
    2. there is a majority consensus in favour of one proposal and no comment has been made for three days, then the quote can be replaced
    3. there is no clear consensus between involved users, then a ballot will be placed forward among the supported proposals
  5. If the proposal is not rejected and, after three days, no one replies, then the quote can be replaced without discussion or voting.
  6. In cases where the previous consensus of the community was that no suitable profile quote existed, the addition of a new profile quote should always go through consensus first, even if the source for the new quote came after that decision. For articles where this applies, this will be noted with a hidden message at the top of the article.

In order to speed up the process, it can be beneficial to withhold your comments when you agree with the majority. Adding your own comment will reset the "three days without comment" waiting period for consensus.

I think this is a better quote because of Mai's lore when she attended Royal Fire Academy and how she first met Azula. And how she strongly opinionized about the school traditions before making a change. Kunoichi101 (wallcontribs) 07:38, 30 March 2025 (UTC)

Support, as the new quote focuses much more on Mai's character than merely on her relationships. DyingFlameTsui (wallcontribs) 15:58, 30 March 2025 (UTC)
Support. This will also hopefully put to rest the nonsense that the last 3 Mai PQC proposals were. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 19:39, 30 March 2025 (UTC)

Similar to my previous proposal about Kyoshi, current quote is not very informative, just his short opinion to Aang's question. Proposed quote better depicts core elements of his character: his main activity as Avatar dealing with dark spirits, which he did by drawing on his experience as a hunter, and how the toll weighed on him. The old quote doesn't say much. The proposed one actually reflects something about Kuruk. Dcasawang1wall 03:13, 10 March 2025 (UTC)

I think this might be a good proposed quote for June since we got some lore in the Bounty Hunter and the Tea brewer comic. I'll let you guys think about it while I only made a suggestion unless anyone decides not to change the quote Kunoichi101 (wallcontribs) 01:03, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
Support per given reasons. DyingFlameTsui (wallcontribs) 14:12, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

Feng got a few quotes in the graphic novel compared to the debut comic. I think the first dialogue in the beginning is best suitable. Kunoichi101 (wallcontribs) 04:10, 7 October 2024 (UTC)

The current quote is about her, the proposal is her speaking about something. I think the current is a better choice. HAMMEROFTHØR (wall) • 18:59, 7 October 2024 (UTC)

Long ago, there was a vote to remove a quote from Lu Ten's page. At the time, we knew next to nothing about him, and any existing quote did not add any useful information. As a result of the Uncle Iroh's Adventure Guide, we now have an actual quote by Lu Ten, and it even portrays his personality (curious, level-headed, always questioning) quite well. Thus, I propose that we add his new quote to the article. DyingFlameTsui (wallcontribs) 10:47, 21 August 2024 (UTC)

Support, per proposal. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 14:40, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
