Officer Dog is a character from the former Disneyland attraction America Sings.

History[]

Background[]

Officer Dog is a police officer dog who was holding onto Blossom-Nose Murphy. After he caught the goose drinking, he attempted to arrest Murphy who ended up singing the musical number "Sweet Adeline" where performing his rendition of said song in a drunken manner, causing the cop to react to Murphy's singing in shock.

Development history[]

The Police Officer Dog character was created in the former America Sings attraction which was created for the America Sings attraction at Disneyland in the Tomorrowland section where he was placed in the "Gay Nineties" sequence where he appear in the song, "Sweet Adeline", which opened on June 29, 1974. However, America Sings closed on April 10, 1988 in order to retheme the attraction to Innoventions, resulting in most of the animatronics moved to Splash Mountain at the Critter Country section, which opened on July 17, 1989. However, the Officer Dog's animatronic was not moved to Splash Mountain for unknown reasons.

Role in the attraction[]

Officer Dog appeared in the former America Sings attraction where he was seen during the "Sweet Adeline" musical number. He could be seen holding onto Blossom-Nose Murphy's back attempting to arrest him.

  • Aside from Sam and Ollie, Officer Dog is one of the few characters from the former America Sings attraction whose animatronic was not moved to Splash Mountain after the attraction closed.
