Hoppers is an upcoming American animated science fiction adventure comedy film produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios. It will be Pixar's 30th animated feature, and is scheduled to be released on March 6, 2026.[2]
Synopsis[]
What if you could talk to animals and understand what they're saying? In Disney and Pixar's all-new feature film "Hoppers", scientists have discovered how to "hop" human consciousness into lifelike robotic animals, allowing people to communicate with animals as animals! The adventure introduces Mabel, an animal lover who seizes an opportunity to use the technology, uncovering mysteries within the animal world that are beyond anything she could have imagined.

- This is the fourth Pixar film of the 2020s to be produced in a 1:85:1 aspect ratio after Luca, Turning Red, and Elemental.
- This is also the fifth Disney animated film of the 2020s to be produced in a 1:85:1 aspect ratio, after Luca, Encanto, Turning Red, and Elemental.
- This will be the third Pixar film to be released in March, after Onward and Turning Red.
- This also will be the second Pixar film to be released on March 6, the 6th anniversary of Onward.
- This is Mark Mothersbaugh's first scoring of a Pixar film since his work on Toy Story Toons: Hawaiian Vacation and Cars Toons.
- This will be Bobby Moynihan's fourth Pixar film after Monsters University, Inside Out, and Inside Out 2.
- This also marks as a mini-reunion for Daniel's previous project We Bare Bears, following the announcement of one of his collaborators, Demetri Martin, who voices Ice Bear in the side and a narrator for its spin-off series We Baby Bears while Bobby voices Panda Bear, voicing in the film after the teaser trailer was released.
- This will be the eighth Pixar film to have a female protagonist after Brave, Inside Out, Finding Dory, Incredibles 2, Turning Red, Elemental, and Inside Out 2.
- Hoppers is the fifth Pixar Production to utilizes a similar art style to anime, since of Bao, Luca, Turning Red and Elio.
- A short teaser trailer for this film was shown after the credits of Elio, which features Tom spamming the lizard emoji on a cellphone.
- Tom also appears in the aforementioned film as one of the photos on the Voyager Golden Record, making it Pixar's Easter egg for teasing Hoppers.
- Said clip went viral on Instagram and TikTok, spawning thousands of memes.
- In the teaser trailer, Mabel compares the hopping process to Avatar, a fourth wall break that Dr. Sam vehemently denies. Both titles are currently distributed by Disney.
- However, Pete Docter states that the style of the film is described as "Avatar meets Mission: Impossible meets Planet Earth" by the premise so far.[8]
- This will be the fifth time that Pixar will released (both Hoppers and Toy Story 5) just two features films at the same year, after 2015's Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur, 2017's Cars 3 and Coco, 2020's Onward and Soul, and 2022's Turning Red and Lightyear.
- The teaser trailer and the official trailer song is "Lose Control" by Missy Elliott.
- This is the second Disney production to have an Cartoon Network creator, in this case being Daniel Chong, after Wander Over Yonder with Craig McCracken.
- The film was originally pitched with penguin protagonists. However, after seeing that penguins had been protagonists in several other animated films, the filmmakers decided to change the protagonists to beavers upon doing research on how they affect the environment.[9]
- This will be the 12th Pixar movie to not be released in summer.
- This is the final film of Isiah Whitlock Jr.
